This is a ridiculously early call. Alvarez needs to face and defeat more of his top ranked contemporaries, not just rack up wins against weak champions in heavier weight divisions.
Whitaker's defense was based on two things. Slipping punches at his back foot and ducking punches below waistline level which is actually illegal. Referees don't give a f**k about that illegal movement but Whitaker did it in every fight. He had ATG defensive skills though. At least, he exposed cab driver killer Chavez.
So Lockridge, Ramirez, Taylor, Haugen, Camacho, Rosario, LaPorte and R Mayweather are “cab drivers”?
His wins that impressed me most? Camacho. Hector was the favorite in this fight but Chavez nullified his speed and flat out beat him up.
The Taylor fight. He was far behind on the cards but was never discouraged and rose to the challenge and got the stoppage.
The Rosario fight. That version of Chapo was a damned good fighter and a murderous puncher. Rosario landed a huge right hand in the second that didn’t faze Chavez granite chin one bit. I think at that point the wind went out of Rosario’s sails and Chavez flat out beat him up too.

More ignorance from NSBs village idiot.
Camacho and Rosario are legit
JLR was kinda long in the tooth but legit
Taylor was a Hail Mary -
''Going into the final round, Taylor held a secure lead on the scorecards of two of the three judges, (Dave Moretti and Jerry Roth had the score 107-102 and 108-101 respectively for Taylor, while Chuck Giampa had Chávez ahead 105-104), and the sense for everyone watching was that Chávez would have to knock Taylor out.''
Rog was a compiler...losing to every ''tough'' guy, beating the lower level guys.
Juan La, besides KO'ing Rocky....what else is there ?
Haugen

So, the fights that I mentioned.

IMHO, Nelo has faced more higher level opponents, but I'm willing to wait until he retires to see how it unfolds.
