This thread isnt about PAC why you keep talking about PAC?
Pac is goat candidate, by all he's beat. But just cos you beat PAC and it's your best win don't make you great, let alone as great ie Morales, horn, Floyd, Bradley, ugas.
But why you keep changing my quotes and talking about PAC? Just the facts will tell you off

You're not seriously trying to say that Chavez, SR didn't face and beat top guys of his era, are you? Mario Martinez, Roger Mayweather, Rocky Lockridge, Edwin Rosario, Rodolfo Aguilar, Jose Luis Ramirez, Alberto Cortez, Meldrick Taylor (X2), Lonnie Smith, Angel Hernandez, Hector Comacho, Sweet Pea, Frankie Randall, Tony the Tiger Lopez, Giavanni Parisi. By the time he was getting old (35), he still was able to draw against Miguel Angel Gonzalez. He lost big fights in his old age to Tszyu and ODH (X2), but at least he fought them. For Alvarez to be compared to Chavez, SR, he needs to do more work against more recognizably top guys.

Outside of the bold names, you are just reaching
Of the bold names, Randall was supposed to be a cherry pick. Did Rog ever beat an ass worth mentioning ? Pea should have won.

Nelo will surpass Sr in merit soon
Nelo probably won't ever earn that love until his biased fans die.

Say what you want about Chavez and his opponents, he is arguably the greatest Mexican boxer of all time. The key word in bold is what Alvarez needs to do get that type of recognition, he needs to EARN IT. A controversial decision and draw against Golovkin, plus stopping Saunders and a host of weak champions in higher weight divisions doesn't cut it.

Hell no! Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr's resume is by far the more superior of the two. He has fought undefeated Olympic Gold medalists Meldrick Taylor, Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker, Hector Camacho and Edwin Rosario just to name a few.

Moreover, all of the guys that Chavez, Sr has fought could actually fight and he has never ducked any opponents either; Unlike Saul Canelo Alvarez. Likewise, all of his fights were highly competitive and hotly contested as well.

Lastly, he was a throwback fighter. He actually gave us boxing fans the fights that we wanted to see and never allowed money to prevent him from doing so by pricing himself out of fights.

Even if you want to discredit Chavez with the Whitaker fight when he was slipping and fighting above his best weight, Chavez still had wins over actual prime Hall of Fame fighters.

Canelo has the win over a washed Cotto and a robbery win over Golovkin. Chavez is the better fighter, and the moment the Canelo hype train is derailed, many of his fans will be brought back down to reality.

Hell, I forgot all about the win over Cotto. That's probably because it didn't mean much, given he was a natural 35 year old WW fighting 25 year old Canelo @ MW.
