It was only a matter of timing.
Say what you want about Chavez and his opponents, he is arguably the greatest Mexican boxer of all time. The key word in bold is what Alvarez needs to do get that type of recognition, he needs to EARN IT. A controversial decision and draw against Golovkin, plus stopping Saunders and a host of weak champions in higher weight divisions doesn't cut it.
Take Nelo and his resume and switch him with Sr and it would be Sr playing catch up..
This is nothing more than a popularity contest.Last edited by BodyBagz; 03-24-2022, 10:30 PM.Comment

Mexicans are always put on pedestals but just how high is the top Mexicans rated? Take Salvador Sanchez for example just where is he all time? If you can say nelo is there then nelo has surpassed, Barrera, Morales or whoever.
If Barrera, jmm, Chavez are top 15 atg then of course nelo not surpassed them yet. It's all about where they areLast edited by hugh grant; 03-25-2022, 06:18 AM.Comment
