I doubt he will ever fight Mosley and I will disagree that Cotto/Pac would be more of a challenge. Especially the ****m Richardson trained version of Mosley.

Arum has made an offer to Mosley to fight Mayweather at a weight of 137 pounds. But the 27-year-old Mosley has outgrown the 135-pound division and has been struggling to make the weight. He was dehydrated against John Brown in his last fight in April in which Mosley stopped Brown. Even though he got down to 135 pounds at the weigh-in for the fight, he ballooned to 151 pounds by the time he entered the ring.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal is Nevada's most trusted source for local news, Las Vegas sports, business news, gaming news, entertainment news and more.

"I can't make these guys fight," said an exasperated Mayweather, who had hoped to face Wright in what would have been one of the year's most intriguing bouts instead of what will turn out to be nothing more than a glorified exhibition.

Former lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight champion Shane Mosley was offered a bout against Mayweather, but declined.
Mosley said he wanted a couple of tuneups, but said he'd fight Mayweather next year.

Kostya Tszyu isn't sure he'll fight again. His conqueror, Ricky Hatton, turned Mayweather down before money was even discussed.

Oscar De La Hoya has mentioned Mayweather, but said he won't consider him until late 2006.

That's around the time when Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said he'd be willing to put young and promising Miguel Cotto in against Mayweather.

There were others, including undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah, but they couldn't come close to contract terms.

And boxers know there are two ways to get out of a fight: simply by saying no, as Hatton did, or by asking for more money than promoters will be able to pay.

That's why I'm confident I won't have to step into the ring against Iron Mike, because $30 million is a bit much, though considering the talent level Mike has been
I never said he was scared to fight mosley, just saying he don't want to fight mosley (probably because HBO put mosley at the end of the list and offering the lowest money for mosley).

Can you elaborate about the multiple offers? How much did Floyd offer Shane? Where would the fight take place?

Are you talking about when Shane said about he had a toothache? Anyways at that time I honestly think at that time Shane was playing his role. Oscar is the boss. If Shane would of fought Floyd and beat Floyd there would of been no World Awaits. Oscar knew this. I think Oscar had a lot to do with that fight not happening. Right before the World Awaits fight.

How do you guys know that Floyd is bringing Shane Mosley up? What if it was the 'Allhiphopdotcom' interviewer who brought Shane up, and Floyd gave his opinion on him?

And I see Floyd is right when he said that when he does something it is taken to the extreme., cause Shane wouldn't shut up about dissing Floyd on ESPN with Brian Kenny and no one said anything about that. But Floyd decides to talk about Shane and discredit his wins and he should "shut up" apparently. Give the guy a fair shake for once
This is funny. I'm sure when Floyd was fighting at 135 and said he wanted DLH you were one of those people saying is Floyd crazy, hes too small. Then he works his way up to 150 to face DLH at 154 (DLH's fighting weight, not 147), and now you say DLH was old as **** to discredit his win. Face the facts people, you may not like everything that comes out of Money May's mouth, but you can't discredit his skills. The man can fight. And he has fought and called out alot of so called top fighters at the time, and either beat them, or they didn't want to fight him for one reason or another.
That is not all that true. I remember when Floyd was at 130 and interrupted Joel Casamayor post fight victory conference and challenged Casamayor. Casamayor accepted that challenge. And then Floyd said I am an HBO fighter he is a Showtime fight it cant be done. Then my question is why challenge him if you knew the fight can't be made. At 135 after Castillo, Spadafora challenged him Stevie Johnston challenged him even Leo Dorin would of fought him. He chose 2 lesser opponents in Phillip Ndou and Victoriano Sosa. But, at the time the other 3 were top fighters who want it. At 140 after Corley. Vivian Harris challenged him who again at the time was considered a top contender and he chose to fight Henry Bruseles? Did he even try to figh Kostya Tszyu? At 147 Margarito was a top 3 fighter. And, Floyd got offered 8mil to fight Margarito. At that time that was Floyd highest payday. What did Floyd do? He paid money, gave away his own money in order not to fight Margarito. After Floyd beat Oscar he did not challenge Cotto. He actually retired. And, both Shane and Hatton challenged Floyd. He chose Hatton. Now let me ask you who was the tougher opponent between the 2? After Hatton. There was no Cotto offer. Remember he wanted to retire instead. But, then was willing to have a rematch with Oscar. But, when he felt he was low balled he retired again. Now he comesback both Shane and JMM call him out. And, who does Floyd chooses? JMM. Now let me ask you, who is more of a challenge between the 2?

When Mosley was in the position to give Floyd a fight, he didn't. Floyd chased him a lot. Floyd didn't need the money, because he had a guaranteed contract with HBO - he was gonna make good bucks anyway. But Floyd needed the name on his resume, and the recognition from the public.

Mosley turned down several Mayweather offers.

Now, the tables are turned. Shane has few options, and Floyd is in the catbird seat. FMJ benefits little by fighting SM now. The watercooler fan isn't asking about Shane. Shane doesn't bring a mainstream fanbase. Before you challenge this, think about life outside this board. And review Shane's commercial history.
