Arum has made an offer to Mosley to fight Mayweather at a weight of 137 pounds. But the 27-year-old Mosley has outgrown the 135-pound division and has been struggling to make the weight. He was dehydrated against John Brown in his last fight in April in which Mosley stopped Brown. Even though he got down to 135 pounds at the weigh-in for the fight, he ballooned to 151 pounds by the time he entered the ring.

"I can't make these guys fight," said an exasperated Mayweather, who had hoped to face Wright in what would have been one of the year's most intriguing bouts instead of what will turn out to be nothing more than a glorified exhibition.
Former lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight champion Shane Mosley was offered a bout against Mayweather, but declined.
Mosley said he wanted a couple of tuneups, but said he'd fight Mayweather next year.
Kostya Tszyu isn't sure he'll fight again. His conqueror, Ricky Hatton, turned Mayweather down before money was even discussed.
Oscar De La Hoya has mentioned Mayweather, but said he won't consider him until late 2006.
That's around the time when Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said he'd be willing to put young and promising Miguel Cotto in against Mayweather.
There were others, including undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah, but they couldn't come close to contract terms.
And boxers know there are two ways to get out of a fight: simply by saying no, as Hatton did, or by asking for more money than promoters will be able to pay.

Jabs, No offense, but you'e just not a rational, factual poster. You go by pure emotion. And then resorted to insults when you felt intellectually cornered. That's why I took a seat on the sidelines to watch.
Everybody needs a gameplan...but that was an odd choice.
It's all love, though. have a great nite.Comment

Where is the proof that Shane didn't have a valid medical reason not to fight Floyd when he declined because of his tooth?
Where is the proof Shane didn't want to fight Floyd at all?Comment

But, for the Berto link. Dude Berto was offered the fight for the Dec 5 Date on HBO. And, HBO offer sheet was like 3mil. Berto 750k while Mosley get the rest. Berto turned it down cuz he wanted more money. Saying he got 750k for Collazo and Urango. Shane would be a bigger fight so it had be more money. But HBO did not have the budget to pay more. So Berto turned it down. The link you send me was in March. For a fight in the summer. After Shane couldn't get the big names. He was willing to fight Berto in Dec. But, Berto turned it down. So Mosley turned to Clottey.Comment

I do honestly believe Shane brings more money than JMM. I also believe a victory over Shane, who is looked as the #1 WW, would be much better on Floyd resume than a victory over JMM.Comment

You keep saying that, and it just isn't true. It just is not. No offense to you, or to Shane.
SHane would not activate a large demographic like the Mex pop. Shane has never been a commercial fighter.
When Shane was charged with carrying an event, he had a low-rated WCB fight at Mandalay Bay. The attendance was reported at 5,000-ish. in actuality, it was lower than that. Even his MSG fight w Cotto didn't do big nums.Comment
