How did Fury play a very bad hand for himself?
He's going to get a huge payday. And Shyte will get a nice chunk of change too, plus an extra 10% if he can win the fight.Comment

Yeah it would definitely be a smart move on DAZN’s part to broker a deal with Sky like Netflix, Prime, Disney, Pea**** etc have. It would definitely bring more casual eyes to your product. That’s what DAZN are lacking, the hardcore fanbase will tune in but the casuals will not and that’s were the money is.
Sky is a massive star maker, that's for sure. I have Sky on pretty much all day, but with Dazn, it's never on except when I tune in for the fights. I was thinking, do you think that if Dazn's app was on sky that would attract more people? I have Netflix app on Sky and pay for it as part of my Sky package and watch Netflix a great deal, but if I didn't have it as part of my Sky, and had to jump through a hoop or two to put it on, I'd watch it less.
Another thing with the Dazn app, if I watch it on my laptop, it works perfectly, but when I play it through my smart TV, it goes off every few minutes. So I'm always watching Dazn on my Laptop, when I'd prefer my big TV. I might try it through my Playstation and see how that works.
But with Sky, and big fights, it feels like there is a constant build up and reminders that something big is happening, but as I say with Dazn, it's just tune in for the fight, and sure, the hardcore fans will, but it's not going to attract casuals and new fans like the way Sky does. Nash out.
Sky are very clever at marketing to the casual fanbase. Take last weekend for example, it’s no coincidence the City vs Spurs game directly led into Khan-Brook. For anyone who watched that game, you’d have noticed several Khan-Brook adverts and information how to order the fight. You also had the SSN stooges constantly talking about “two massive events from Manchester” and all the other typical BS hype. It’s been a fool-proof system for years.Comment

Around the same time area I said a deal was going on and decision making Whyte signed ,this wasn’t magic it was being practical with the deadline you still had posters claiming no big announcement of fight news was going to be announced . Here we are . I think if Fury makes it to fight night it will be a great fight .Comment

Because Whyte could have used the Arbitration to extend this even further legally because that’s not due until well into March . There was no point in though because he then doesn’t get an April date ,he also doesn’t have to promote this fight and if Whyte chooses not to it can end disasterous for BT sports . This also under cuts Furys PPV buys so yea he didn’t play a good hand at all for himself unless Whyte participates in his little social media rants . Maybe the 80/20 split works out but it’s not very smart in a U.K domestic fight that could be far bigger with two guys promoting it .
Oddly you like this though a duller build up because you have a weird Whyte obsession ?

Fury is going to be just fine.
We won't have to hear Shyte whining about a title shot anymore after this. Thank God.Comment
