BREAKING NEWS!!! Keith Thurman vs Mario Barrios Did 39K PPV Buys!!

I heard today, from reliable sources (which I will link tomorrow) that the Keith Thurman vs Mario Barrios fight did a paltry 39k buys. Of course, Showtime and the PBC will not release these numbers, just like Tank's last fight's numbers have not been released.

It appears a boycott is in place for the PPC/Showtime fights. How long will it take them to give us Spence vs Crawford? I think they'll realize they have no choice now.

Maybe that low PPV is a business. How much does it cost to set up an arena, If you do everything yourself it can't be that much.

I didn’t buy it because it was garbage. PBC surely alienated many fans with this crap.

I get the want to boost Thurman to make a Crawford or Boots fight bigger. This imo was not the way to do it.

This should’ve been on Fox or Sho and paired with better fights.

You could have told me 39k people watched it on Showtime and I’d believe it.

It did 38k more sales than I thought. That was going to fell for many reasons, same with that last Ortiz HW fight.

If true there shouldn't be much shock if any. It was a bad fight from a fighter not well known outside of boxing who hadn't fought in 2 years against a guy who was just stopped and was moving up in weight. PBC should be ashamed of themselves but we're talking about the same outfit that put Ortiz vs Martin on PPV

I don’t believe it. 30k of those must be PBC buying it themselves.

That's roughly $3 million. Not sure how much revenue the live gate and site fees generated but the fighters were apparently guaranteed about $1.25 million total. Curious of it broke even.
