Canelo close to accepting Bivol & Golovkin

I could see Charlo's style being more of a problem for Canelo, but I see Andrade's being the biggest problem.
I’m not saying Bivol isn’t athletic. I’m saying he isn’t as or more athletic than Canelo.
Yes, he is skilled and has beat quality guys. But styles make fights, not previous opposition.
I just think it’s clear that size and power are less of a difficulty for Canelo than athleticism and speed. I also think he is a better boxer than Bivol.
Put it like this-there is a reason why Bivol is first and there is a 2 fight deal. Knowwhatimsayin?Comment

I’m saying he isn’t as athletic as Canelo. I’ll give you an example- Kobe (rip) was athletic , except when comparing him to a Vince Carter or a LeBron, who are much more athletic. You understand my point better now?
Bivol lacks athleticism? Why would you say that? He looks very athletic. Charlo may be more explosive but apart from that I don't think I'd give one edge to Charlo vs Bivol.
Charlo has struggled with guys at 160 that are very average. Comparing him as a fighter to Bivol, who is pretty clearly better pfp 2 weight classes up, is a REACH
Its not about comparing Charlo to Bivol. It’s about which one has a style that Canelo is better suited for. IMO, I don’t know if Bivol would be more difficult given what I’ve seen.
I didn’t compare them in any way other than athleticism. Also, don’t make a rookie or casual mistake-styles make fights, not pfp list placement.Comment

I like Charlo's explosiveness. But Charlo at 168 has a puncher's chance, maybe 10% of beating Canelo legit imo. Bivol should be favored at 175 over Canelo.Comment

Seemed like you were comparing Charlo and Bivol. And in any event, I wouldn't say Canelo is more athletic than Bivol either, by any worthwhile metric.

Athleticism is fluidity of movement mainly. Bivol doesn't lack for that at all really.
Charlo has about 0 chance of outboxing Canelo over 12 rounds. All he has is a puncher's chance of hurting a guy who is in his prime, and has never been hurt before in 50+ fights, many of them against bigger punchers and/or better fighters than Charlo. Maybe a 10% chance at 168.
Bivol should be favored in a no restrictions fight over Canelo at 175. Can't see any realistic argument that Charlo at 168 is a tougher fight than Bivol at 175.Last edited by Boxing-1013; 02-09-2022, 03:44 PM.Comment

Get GGG out of here, instead focus on Unifying 175
Put pressure on Bivol and Joe Smith to Unify and fight the winner in September and make more history and Unify 175 in 2022
This GGG fight is pointless, man is now like 40 now and haven't fought since December 2020, nobody is still excited for that trilogy besides some people at DAZN
Fighting at 175 vs Bivol and Beterbiev is far more dangerous than fighting at Middleweight Charlo who never fought at 168. During this time, Charlo should move his assss up and fight Plant and Benavidez himself and he could still ultimately land that Canelo fight May 2023, both fighters are still young and in their Prime so that fight can still happenLast edited by sicko; 02-09-2022, 03:47 PM.Comment

Was Golovkin more athletic than Canelo in their first 2 fights?
What makes Bivol the harder fight?
I think at this point it’s clear athleticism, not power or size, make fights challenging or more difficult for Canelo.
Bivol’s style, lacking athleticism, wouldn’t be more difficult than a solid opponent with an athletic advantage over Canelo.Comment
