Is he lying though? Outside of a few male feminists, like yourself obviously, nobody cares about womens boxing. The PPV buys and ratings reflect it. Womens MMA is a far bigger deal. There is too much of a gap between actual talented females and the rest. Yet I am sure this post makes you pat yourself on the back.
Have you seen the Katie Taylor and Jessica McCaskill fight?

Put it this way: extending his football comparison, the premier league would never feel the need to diss women's football because it is so obviously more popular. There is only PR downside to be had in being the titan and talking down the weany competition. However, the Premier League felt the need to talk up its strengths when a European Super League was mooted. The Super League was an upstart, but a potential threat.
Women's boxing as a whole is obviously far less established than men's boxing as whole. It is obviously far less popular. There is no need to state this. It is not men's boxing as whole and women's boxing as a whole that has drawn this comment from Arum though. It is in the specific comparison of Stevenson/Valdez to Taylor/Serrano that I think he does feel a little threatened. Taylor/Serrano is at MSG, as prestigious and historic a venue as any when it comes to boxing. It is an EVENT in a way that I'm not convinced the Stevenson/Valdez is.
Let's see how the numbers play out.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 02-01-2022, 11:25 PM.

Cannot believe the entitlement levels. These women have been FORCED on the public that never asked for them and would go a hundred years without a shred of interest in women's boxing, and they complain about Arum - because they know he's correct!
It is just the usual anti nature people getting angry that no one wants what they are selling.
Jake Paul did well to stick up for her though, he really has been taking PR lessons from Fast Eddie it seems.charliepaerker likes this.

I understand people not liking women's boxing in general but some of the members here seem to dig deeper than is necessary. They sound like women haters. All have mothers, some have sisters, some wives/girlfriends. I can't honestly understand the hate beyond the boxing part.

It's not about lying, doesn't Bob promote a prominent women's boxer? I know he's 90 and DGAF but it's the same thing Crawford was saying. You publicly undermine my value while working for me. Only in boxing will people find that to be acceptable behavior.charliepaerker
