This fight wouldnt cover Fury’s exorbitant purse even with the lowball split/guarantee he’d offer Ngannou.

Any time Fury spends on this clown is time he's not spending fighting a legit opponent.

I enjoy mma as a sport, I was into it before it became a commercial thing back when the closest thing we had in the usa was military martial arts programs and Jeet Kune Do concepts. But I really don’t like the ufc, I find both Dana white and the ufc geeky nerdy fanbase and their “real street fights bro” and the “just bleed” mentality so very low class. And now I see how much the heavyweight champ of that organisation makes….it just solidifies my resolve in never watching them again

Bro that's exactly what they said about wilder when he fought stiverne to a decision. Also you could argue he did any wrestling just a takedown and staying on top of him is exactly wrestling.

But to answer your question he didn't ko or even dominate his last fight we just saw. It was boring af and now he's gonna cash out against fury
Had Ngannou knocked Gane out in devastating fashion Fury wouldn’t have mentoned him anymore . I remember something where he pulled this years ago against Cane Valesquez but then Cain brutally beat his opponent up then Fury said he was just joking when Dana White gave the O.K .

Businessman Fury looking for a safe fight against non punchers .

Of course it is, its control. You say "staying on top of him" like thats some easy thing to do and doesnt require any kind of technique. Ngannou isnt exactly some grappling wizard but you can see that hes constantly controlling the wrists, getting overhooks and underhooks etc. After the first takedown he starts in side control and you can see him quickly switch to full mount to taking the back to getting his hooks in in response to Ganes movements as he tries to escape.

You seem more knowledgeable about the sport than me so ima just say your right. But in my opinion it was a boring fight from "the baddest man on the planet"

The grapping aspect takes a while to appreciate the nuances of compared to striking imo. Not that this was a particularly great display of grappling.

No doubt it was a fairly boring fight, but pretty much everyone can have a boring fight sometimes. Personally I didnt expect it to be a crazy fight going in anyway because of the stylistic match up. Did you see the co-main? that was an excellent fight.

I agree I probably don't appreciate the skill it takes but I think he could have done better since he was the one doing the take downs. More ground and pound or something.

Oh yeah I barely caught the last round. A couple people that were there when we started watching were saying it would be better for the main event. I think cause they are trying to setup a rematch of the winner and someone else I believe

Gane is a strong dude and was staying active trying to escape though, and Ngannou is just not that good of a grappler to be able to maintain solid control for long enough to start raining down lots of GNP as well. Stylistically that fight was basically a big puncher with wrestling weaknesses vs a technical striker with wrestling weaknesses, and the big puncher decided to mix in his slightly better but still below average wrestling because he was in the rare situation of facing someone who he couldnt land on easily. End result is a not so great fight that wasnt representative of what either guy is capable of.
