But aside from the whole " unifying the HW titles " aspect.
I'm not too interested in this fight.
I might be wrong. But IMO Fury and Usyks styles together will most likely give us a boring fight.

His fan base has been dwindling for a while since the losses. Another loss will be the final nail in the Coffin. Plus then he is going to be the clear B-side if the Fury fight was ever to happen after another loss to Usyk, and he might get nowhere near the money that he once could’ve, which might not make the fight that appealing to him anymore or even the thought of continuing boxing.
I think the best bet would be to step aside and be guaranteed the winner, because if Usyk won, then he can have an interim fight to spend with a new trainer to give him a better chance of beating Usyk later. If Fury was to win the unification, which I think he would, then Joshua gets that mega fight while it’s still more appealing.
If Joshua steps aside and can get it in a contract to fight the winner, then I think he would be ****** not to
eitherway the guy has so much money already that he doesnt need to give an eff about a £20m offer made to him and will only step aside if it's significantly more.

It could definitely benefit joshua if he’s guaranteed the winner. Instead of rematching Usyk in a dangerous fight, he can get paid to wait it out, hope Fury vs Usyk goes as predicted (Fury would be solid favorite to win), and then fight an undisputed fury instead of having through usyk first.

I just can't see Joshua/Hearn trusting that any deal would be fulfilled.
Would you trust Fury?
I can see the appeal though. Joshua v Fury would always be a good fight.
I'm just not sure I see Fury going in with a dangerous fighter with 2 losses, no belts, and a diminished standing. If Joshua won, Fury's standing would be questioned.

Maybe, but there will be one heavyweight champ, barring a draw of course.
I've also come around to Team Fury after his second fight with Wilder.
I just have a feeling we might be in for a stinker.
I'd much rather see Wilder and AJ fight each other.
Even with no titles on the line.Last edited by Idunnoshet; 01-19-2022, 11:06 PM.Tony Trick-Pony likes this.

Facts are we gonna see a trilogy with AJ/Usyk and a rematch after Whyte knocks out Shyte. By then we'll be in 2023 with AJ and Usyk likely retiring on their record earnings and Shyte and Whyte fighting Trevor Bryon.
