No, it would go to a purse bid and then Top Rank would lose the rights to the fight to the highest bidder. However, there's no need for concern or to be alarmed because Tyson would relinquish that belt before ever thinking of betraying Top Rank and Bob Arum by signing with a rival promoter.

Bingo! You hit the hammer right on the head. That's exactly what Eddie wants. He doesn't give a damn about an arbitration. That's just a stalling negotiation tactic. He wants to drag out this negotiation out for as long as he can in order to force a purse bid and win it.

Therefore, it would be wise of Top Rank to give Whyte exactly what he wants and looking for or risk losing both the fight and the title altogether. The truth is Dillian Whyte has Top Rank by the balls because he is their mandatory challenger.

So in that case, he could demand as much as 25M of his 20 percent cut and they would have to pay him or else the fight goes to a purse bid or Tyson Fury drops the belt one.

Top Rank and ESPN only have one fight left with Tyson Fury and if Eddie Hearn was to win the purse bid, then the fight wouldn’t be part of that deal, which means they get to keep Fury for the fight after, which could be an even bigger fight in the unification. Arum is sitting pretty either way.
Also, Hearn is obviously desperate to land the fight to the point where DAZN will have to bid a fortune. More smiles for Uncle Bob.

Unless the chances of the arbitration ruling in the WBC's favour is 100%, then this does not mean they are 'fine' with 80/20.
Hearn says it in this article. That if it goes 80/20 they're fine with that.

Eddie doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to this and he knows it.

They'll try and drag it out as long as possible and then will eventually give up the shot like Dillian always does.
100%. This was plan all along.

just like Whyte running from AJ title fight

Whyte's last filed purse was $400,000 and Fury's last filed purse was $6,000,000.

Filed where? I keep seeing he was guaranteed 4 million against povetkin so I really don’t understand where this $400,000 figure is coming from. The only person I’ve heard say 400k is Warren.

Just for the record I think what team fury offered Whyte (5mil plus 20%) is more than fair and Whyte should’ve accepted that deal. I just don’t know where Frank is getting this figure from.

Frank is getting the figures from the WBC. Whyte submitted 300k pounds, approximately 400k dollars.
