If they felt 20% was lowballing then Hearn and Whyte wouldn't be okay with it. If they're fine with it then there's no reason to hold up the fight.
can you quote the bit where he said they are fine with it, from eddie hearn himself

Whyte would rather make 300k winning an email title from a scrub than make 5 million taking a beating.

I told ya'll this cheeky bastard was the one behind the scenes pulling Dillian Whyte's strings. It was Hearn all along who had been instructing Dillian to drag out these bad faith negotiations and stalling tactics by pricing himself out in order for the fight to go to a purse bid. Eddie wants this fight so badly that he could taste it.

Despite being a 2x PED cheat recently laid out by a non power punching senior citizen, Hearn has gotten Whyte profile on British TV & media. that name recognition makes him more marketable as an opponent than most of these other guys. So - offer him more than 20%. The fight will be profitable. But if he rejects the better offer, the Matchroom incel fanboys here should find another day job besides being Eddie’s fluffer. Your PED boy is chickensht

Eddie doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to this and he knows it.

They'll try and drag it out as long as possible and then will eventually give up the shot like Dillian always does.
Eddie is playing this one beautifully. Whyte neither has the brains, intellect, know how nor the connections to pull this one off. Matchroom wants to put this WBC heavyweight championship bout and Tyson Fury on DAZN so badly that they can taste it.

Also, I disagree that Eddie doesn't have a leg to stand on. He is sitting in the catbird seat now. He can make Top Rank and Bob Arum to do whatever he wants because Dillian Whyte is Tyson Fury's mandatory and if Team Fury doesn't acquiesce to all of Team Whyte's demands then he would be stripped of his title. Trust me that Eddie Hearn is enjoying this enviable position of his very immensely.

Wrong. If Whyte dont accept 20% the WBC is going to remove him

on the suggestion that Hearn can outwit and outmaneuver Arum…your choice to like, hate or be indifferent about Arum. But he is smart and immensely connected. Doesn’t need to be doing this at 90 years old. He likes to. He’s great at it. And he’s a genius old buzzard. In the possibility DAZN and their Monopoly money can win the purse bid - don’t think he isn’t well aware and amused that Matchroom will be paying an obscene purse split to his fighter

Whyte’s demands? - he officially got given a 20% split. He can like it or lump it. If he doesn’t take it, he loses his position. Simple as.

As for Arum, he’s in a good position here. Fury has one fight remaining on his Top Rank/ESPN deal. If he wins the purse bid, he gets a pretty big fight. If he loses the purse bid, then he gets to keep Fury for the fight after, which likely could be an even bigger fight (the unification).

Hearn is hardly in a great position. He’s “representing” a fighter that’s getting 20%. The funny thing is, Whyte actually has a fight by fight deal with Eddie Hearn, so technically Whyte could cut him out altogether if he doesn’t wanna give up any more of that 20% and Hearn could get absolutely nothing. Whyte has openly said before he has no contract with Hearn and would fight elsewhere if the deal is right. Now you know why Eddie Hearn is so desperate for Whyte to get 45% , because he knows if it’s 20%, he might get cut out altogether, Whyte has no legal obligation to Eddie.

So Hearn’s only absolute certainty of getting money from this fight is winning a purse bid, which might be an extortionate amount.

Plus as I said in my post just before this. Top Rank and ESPN only have one fight left with Tyson Fury and if Eddie Hearn was to win the purse bid, then the fight wouldn’t be part of that deal, which means they get to keep Fury for the fight after, which could be an even bigger fight in the unification. Arum is sitting pretty either way.
