    Compared to May he was.

Then again, May sons most people he fights. Regardless of their age.

The idea that Canelo is a totally different fighter now is a myth. I think he might be slightly better but basically the same fighter, the only difference is he has not fought anyone even close to Floyd again. Against a nobody like plant, he struggled and often was hitting complete air, so just imagine if he fought Floyd again? Would be the same result.

The excuse he was 'drained' is comical also when he weighed in only 1.5lbs heavier vs Trout 5 months earlier. lol the pathetic excuses.
      165 vs 172…you’re the comedian

Why omit his lack of amateur fights? 42 fights is nothing if you have no amateur background.

Imagine if Canelo had 200 amateur fights before turning pro, how insane he would be right now.

Time is precious and it's a waste to spend it in the amateurs

After maybe 50 fights, get that ass up to the pros and make that money

Not a kid, but still kind of inexperienced. Just look at the mistakes he made and the impatience that he showed.

He wasnt a "kid" but he wasnt at the point in his career where he had the peak combination of athleticism + elite level experience + man strength yet.
