I think congratulations are in order John... you had me rolling with that about 'remember all the guys in training where you didn't go the body because you didn't want them to go home... send this one home'
Your boy did it too.. just like you said.
And yeah. Artur vs Joe:
a) can't fail to entertain and
b) can't fail to sell either in the US or Canada.
Fantastic fan friendly fight.
Were you worried at all that it might be stopped and go to the cards early on? Marcus looked to have taken the first coupla rounds so it might have been a roll of the dice if it'd been stopped in 4 or 5 and gone to the judges.Damn Wicked likes this.

I’ve never been completely sold on Beterbiev. He’s somewhat one dimensional and we’ve seen him hurt a few times.
He’s nearly 37 and has fought 7 times in the last 6 years.
Seriously how does that even happen? Just fight mediocre guys if you can’t secure big fights, no fight no check.

The scariest part is that he is already 36, only has 17 pro fights, wasted a ton of time by having a career littered with inactivity, had trouble making 175lbs, and still looks in great shape and like he is physically in his prime when he likely is just maybe at his peak/past his peak.
He is not past prime yet, but likely closer to past prime than he is to prime. But he still looks better than most young/prime fighters. Like I don’t expect Beterbiev to have any issues with any current Ring top 10 175 fighter right now, regardless of age/prime. Only reason he isn’t seen as a top 10 P4P fighter is because he hasn’t beaten any great fighters excluding Gvozdyk.
But the rare times I have seen Beterbiev fight top 10 LHW’s, he destroys them. Campillo, Cloud, Gvozdyk, Browne…he destroyed them all. He showed he was above just a top 10 guy of a division. Beterbiev can easily be ranked top 10 P4P if we stayed consistent on just going by “the eye test”. He has shown that.
His inactivity, even pre-covid, has been awful. That hurt his career. Fighting once in a blue moon. Once in 2017, once in 2018, 0 times in 2020. Beterbiev, in my eyes, is the best and most inactive fighter I have seen. Like it is disappointing to see such a good fighter who is so inactive. And please don’t tell me it’s because he is ducked. GGG was supposedly ducked as well but managed to fight 3 times a year at the height of his career, and then at worst two times a year. And just recently, due to age, once a year. Beterbiev and his handlers should have done much better than 17 fights by age 36.
Eastern Euros last longer because they don't take years off their prime with booze, drugs and partying like western fighters do.

No respect for this Marcus Brown. Got dominated outside of obviously intentional headbutts.Last edited by SplitSecond; 12-18-2021, 06:12 AM.RingMaster2018
