It was seek and destroy. Browne kept it on the outside and took the first couple rounds, but he slowed down a tiny bit in the third and got worked. Intentional headbutt cut both him and Beterbiev. Browne did his thing and let some big shots go on Beterbiev, but Beterbiev was taking the rounds and rocking him. From round 4 on it was just a question of KO or Beterbiev decision.

Watching tonight’s performance, Beterbiev looked like he could, possibly, be outboxed by Canelo and maybe even put down late... he was blowing hard by the 7th... but it would by no means be a clear pick for Canelo. Reynoso better think long and hard about making that fight.

Rounds 1 and 2 Brown was a mover and def had faster hands then Artur. Artur was reluctant to throw, even when he trapped Brown in a corner, in the corner Brown would frustrate Artur with upper body movement causing him to not throw then escape. 3rd round we had Brown throw a hook in a clinch and following that hook up with a headbutt that caused bad bleeding in Artur. My ****** cut out for 2 rounds but when I got back Artur was jabbing more and starting to gain momentum and Brown's workrate and footwork lessened. Artur's power must be real, a lot of his punches were 'chippy', short clipping shots and then mixed in with long full extension punches but those short clipping shots really took a lot out of Brown.

The ref kept warning Artur about stepping on Brown's lead foot which is to be expected from a southpaw vs orthodox, but I don't recall the ref warning Brown about his fouls but like I said my ****** cut out so maybe I did miss something.

      • Saw some people mentioning Artur breathing heavy I think it's because he kind of gassed himself out a bit after hurting Browne initially. There is also the fact that he had COVID not too long ago.

          • It would be so funny to watch Canelo fight Beterbiev and get poleaxed then come down to 168 and fight Benavidez and get that azz tore up real good !!!

            • Beterbiev is a beast.

The scariest part is that he is already 36, only has 17 pro fights, wasted a ton of time by having a career littered with inactivity, had trouble making 175lbs, and still looks in great shape and like he is physically in his prime when he likely is just maybe at his peak/past his peak.

He is not past prime yet, but likely closer to past prime than he is to prime. But he still looks better than most young/prime fighters. Like I don’t expect Beterbiev to have any issues with any current Ring top 10 175 fighter right now, regardless of age/prime. Only reason he isn’t seen as a top 10 P4P fighter is because he hasn’t beaten any great fighters excluding Gvozdyk.

But the rare times I have seen Beterbiev fight top 10 LHW’s, he destroys them. Campillo, Cloud, Gvozdyk, Browne…he destroyed them all. He showed he was above just a top 10 guy of a division. Beterbiev can easily be ranked top 10 P4P if we stayed consistent on just going by “the eye test”. He has shown that.

His inactivity, even pre-covid, has been awful. That hurt his career. Fighting once in a blue moon. Once in 2017, once in 2018, 0 times in 2020. Beterbiev, in my eyes, is the best and most inactive fighter I have seen. Like it is disappointing to see such a good fighter who is so inactive. And please don’t tell me it’s because he is ducked. GGG was supposedly ducked as well but managed to fight 3 times a year at the height of his career, and then at worst two times a year. And just recently, due to age, once a year. Beterbiev and his handlers should have done much better than 17 fights by age 36.

Arum should make Beterbiev-Smith Jr. unification next. Then maybe Canelo vs Beterbiev on September.
I think...and have thought for a while...that Artur vs. Joe would be the most fan friendly, edge of your seat "Ive got to see whats going to happen" fight at 175

To be fair, he had some injuries, an operation, covid and a couple canceled fights and promotional issues.

                    • I watched only 1minute of the fight and could EASILY see Canelo will easily whip Artur. He slow, he misses and he’s off balance way too much.
