You know what...it's difficult to tell with some of these fighters nowadays where their ceiling lies because in reality...they don't test themselves...they just play the money ladder game that Floyd laid the blueprint for. I do know that Crawford possesses some of the qualities that would leave us to believe he can be elite. He has power...determination and a serious killer instinct when it's comes to finishing his opponents. Having said that...adversity will be the determining factor. He hasn't put himself in that position yet so it remains to be seen wether he will remembered as very good...or really great.
Does Terrence Crawford have the most overrated skills in boxing?

- - Given U ain't given his "Overrated Value," guess that means U top 10 Dummest on BS.I mean he did get outboxed by little Gamboa something vicious the first 4 or 5 rounds.
He did get outboxed for about 8 rounds by Porter out of all people
Kell Brook did a number on him early in the fight.
So is he the most overrated boxers skills-wise cause it seems to me he gets bailed out by his strength and power.Comment

Crawford has a good sense of finding range and exploiting openings and a fighters mistakes(Porter dropping his hands and lunging with his head or Brook reaching and pushing his jab too much against the southpaw stance) his whole style is predicated off capitalizing off a fighters mistakes. He is also an accurate puncher as well. His activity levels are hit and miss and now that I've seen the Porter fight he doesn't have much of an inside game, but he is hard to deal with at a distance because of his long arms and while his footwork isn't as great as it's made out to be it is still good.
A technical fundamental boxer with a high activity level and who has a strong jab would be a nightmare for Crawford, especially if that fighter was a southpaw to negate Crawford's switching.Comment

Do people just hate on boxers just because? Crawford is an excellent boxer. PBC froze him out, which is why he's criticized. I see these threads all that time. Crapping on boxers. How come we always see threads trying to **** on Crawford and not threads trying to **** on Spence? When's the last time a thread was started asking "Is Spence Overrated?"Comment

Hard to say as he hasn’t really been in with great competition at the right time. Names like Gamboa, Khan, Brook, and Porter were all well past their best.
Its like saying the G League MVP would be a great player in the NBA. We have to see them in with the best.
Hopefully know that Arum has moved on from Bud he’ll get those chances if he really wants to chase greatness.Comment

He get hit a pretty lot. his defense is def overrated. he looked good defensively against jeff horn but thats about it. his offense is pretty versatile and he is decent size for a welterweight, could certainly fight at 154 now.
its a shame he hadnt pushed for a spence fight until spence's body is breaking down. car wreck and new injuries.
crawford wasted his time fighting bums instead of being in the mix with the best.
if he was in the 2000 era at welter with dlh, trinidad, mosley, forrest, quarte ect would anyone notice him?
hes prob the best today but only because spence is broken and its a gap where all the others have aged out and no young bucks stepped up yetLast edited by elfag; 12-17-2021, 10:28 AM.Comment

They're all fast starters and he is a notoriously slow starter. Its not how you start its how you finish.
he figures them out, gets his timing down and does what he needs to do in fairness to him.
His skills maybe a touch overrated but I don't think getting outboxed early on by a prime Gamboa proves anything. I think if there was one thing we could all agree on it was Brook and Gamboa would cause problems early especially a smaller, incredibly fast Gamboa that was relatively fresh out of the amateurs.

Everyone needs to keep terence name out their mouth forever, the same people who said he was ducking EJ and needed to prove himself against Shawn, because Shawn gave EJ hell, are just jealous haters because Bud diid better than Errol. Your speaking in hateful rhetoric and not facts, and your opinions mean nothing.Comment
