Some of you guys would be terrible boxing advisors

Some of you would actually suggest a young contender like Conor Benn to fight Ortiz jr. or Ennis next, lol.

I mean, get real. Just take a look which guys Spence fought before getting a title shot. Guys like Bundu, Lo Greco, Algieri.

Since when should top rising contenders fight each other before getting a world title shot?

I mean, add some logic into your virtual match making. You would be terrible advisors for young fighters.

Yeah, for real. Benn looks like he’s already a decent financial draw as well. He just graduated from Granados to Algeri.... unless there is a big paying title shot incoming, he would be best to fight very good domestic competition, make a few bucks and wait for a mandatory shot IMO.

I'll add some logic. What makes a top rising contender? Someone who beats nobodies...or someone who beats other decent fighters. How long should a contender wait? If they are 5th down the line...wouldn't they want to beat the number 2 guy to try and jump to the head of the line? You are the reason decent fights don't get made. You are a "0" protector. Business man. We the people want the good fighters to fight. Stop holding up the line.

There comes a time when a boxer can no longer be coddled.

        Put up or shut up.

If they were under the same promotion it would make sense, think Victor Ortiz vs Marcos Maidana. let’s the promotion co. know which contender moves forward.

But when under different promotions it will not happen until each win a title.

This is the way Spence got a world title shot.

Its a guy who wins big and keeps winning, just about every top liner began with a string of no-names and a showreel of KOs, then the class steps up and the first thing to decline is KOes, or the hype job gets exposed, they all take time to develop.

Agreed. He's 20 fights in and he's talking about Broner. How many guys have won and lost titles in less fights than that? Some of them multiple titles in multiple divisions. Like you said...it's time to put up or shut up. These are the same guys who complain about Calzaghe never leaving the UK or Ottke never leaving Germany.

You can't compare fighting Algieri in early 2016 with fighting Algieri in late 2021. That's just plain silly.
