I still rate Loma as the #1 Lightweight in the world.

I have no issues with that. Gun to my head, I would probably pick Loma as the best right now too but it’s not anywhere close to being clear cut and wouldn’t you like find out between Loma, Haney, Davis and Komb who the best is?Comment

Not sure on JoJo but I'm fairly certain Cruz gets the breaks beat off of him by both Commey and Campbell man lol. Just because Tank had difficulty with him doesn't make him this superb boxer/fighter than will go to beat every other lightweight like some here want believe. The guy barely got past a washed up,dragged up,Vargas for crying out loud and had gone to decisions 5 out of his last 6 fights against journeyman level fighters .All it took was a good chin to give Tank issues because we was still the same crude pressing brawler, open for counters, who couldn't throw a straight punch to save his life.
Did you even watch Loma vs Campbell? Eventhough he got beat,he very much held his own against Loma and is actually a very good, well schooled boxer. But you have your opinions and I have mine so let's leave it at that.Comment

Linares was the reigning WBA and Ring champion and #2 ranked lightweight (behind Mikey Garcia) when he dropped Loma (and Loma got up and knocked him out). He was three years older and had been knocked out by Loma and then again in one round by a journeyman in an ill-advised move up to 140 when he put Haney on dream street. And instead of stepping to him and knocking Linares out like Lomachenko did, Haney ran for his life for the last two rounds of the fight.
Cruz has 0 career wins over top 10 opponents.
Diaz has 0 career wins over top 10 lightweights.
The best wins at 135 in the last few years are:
1. Lopez over Lomachenko
2. Kambosos over Lopez
3. Lomachenko over Linares
Lopez moved up so that leaves Loma and Kambosos.
Tank, Haney, Garcia, Cruz, Diaz, etc don't get a say until they beat someone in the top 5. Period.Comment

Davis: goes 12 rds while losing a good portion of them vs an unheralded handpicked opponent who is smaller than him.
Ppl: wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loma: goes 12 rds while arguably losing one or two vs a former world champion&a proven puncher who is bigger than him.
Ppl: Yeah, we're unimpressed.Comment

It's inane, absurd comments like this one that should cause the poster to be temporarily banned. Revoke their posting card so they have to sit and just read the forum. They'll never learn otherwise.
As a light weight, Loma hasn’t accomplished anything more than Haney or Tank, he’s just been there longer. Lopez came out on the short end of a pretty good fight and if he’s right (physically and emotionally) you could easily make a case for him and that move to 140 might get reconsidered.Comment
