What happened to GGG when he fought real competition? Shawn Porter is more proven against real competition than GGG ever will be. Shawn fought PRIME KELL, PRIME KEITH, PRIME SPENCE, PRIME DSG, and PRIME UGAS. The only fighter GGG ever fought that even compares to these 5 is Jacobs. I rate Jacobs way worse than Prime Kelly, Keith and Spence, maybe on the same level as DSG and Ugas. At least Shawn fought real killers like those 3 and gave them good fight. And stood in the pocket and traded with EJ. LEt's be real, if Spence was a natural 160 ,do you think GGG would have had the confidence to trade with him?

I'm not a fan of Golovkin, but he was clearly an elite MW and an elite fighter in general. Despite his relatively weak resume.

He fought a list of solid Top 10 guys and dispatched of them all easily. Something Porter never really did.

Porter is a B level fighter. GGG was an A level fighter.

That's a win equal to G's win over Jacobs. But at least Porter beat Danny Garcia fair and square, something GGG has never done, never clearly beaten a fighter as good as Danny.

I'll give you my honest opinion of Canelo's last 10 fights man. And I'll do the same for Crawford.

10 JCC Jr - who cares, couldn't even really hurt or KO him
            9 and 8 - GGG - lost both
7 - Fielding, weight class up, but weight clause
6 - Jacobs - Good 7-5 win in my book, good win
5 - Kov - good finish, 2 weight classes up, but Kov is shot and it was a short camp for him
4 - Smith - just lost in a similar fashion to Ryder
            3 - Yildrim - stay busy fight
            2 and 1 - BJS and Plant

2 really impressive wins and finishes.

Out of his last 10, only 3 of those are really clean, very good wins imo. The last 2 being his most impressive.

Canelo has 3 soft wins. 2 losses. 3 really good wins. And 2 'cherry-picks'

            Crawford
            Postol - great dominant win
His next 8 were all dominant KOs over guys who you would expect him to beat. A string of 8 wins like that in a row, by KO is impressive to me.
Then the KO of Porter, very impressive.

2 very impressive wins. Bookended by 8 dominant wins over good fighters.

That's what happens when you fight top comp. Explain to me GGG's great resume before he fought Canelo.

GGG's resume then is basically Crawford's right now. A lot of (10+) dominant wins over good pros. No real controversy in 10+ fights like that is extremely impressive. Just compare that run to anyone else in boxing and you'll see that.

That is not the point the OP is making. He is talking about resume wise.Compare GGG's resume with Shawn Porter's resume and it is not even close. Name all of the top tier fighters that GGG has fought and then list all of the top tier opponents that Shawn Porter has fought. 'Showtime' Shawn Porter's resume is hands down much better than Golovkin's. It's just that plain and simple.
