Canelo at Cruiser... WBC making up rules?

While I have no problem with Canelo fighting at Cruiser, it would be pretty amazing - I'm guessing by making this mandatory they are deciding the split too? 80% Canelo? This is really an optional defence. Canelo has not proven he's able to fight at cruiser, never mind challenge the champion.

Then theres the Heavyweight situation where they simply won't grant a mandatory for personal reasons, whether that's because they just want Wilder/Fury to be champion or a dislike of Whyte/Hearn.

Boxing needs an overall governing body! I know, broken record....

It won’t be an ordered purse split. Team Canelo will make Makabu an offer and he will bite their hands off. I doubt he even gets 20% tbh. Makabu will get a couple of million.

As for the Whyte situation, I think they should order Whyte to fight Wilder in an eliminator. Whyte doesn’t deserve to be mandatory. Ducked eliminators, ducked direct title shots, ducked Wallin only last month. He’ll reject the Fury shot anyway so it’s all immaterial.

WBC has no rules, it s been asserted so many times one has to be blind and deaf no to realize it.

The Dillian White ruling is absurd, bitter little men. Expect a legal suit soon to correct this, the interim champion is mandatory to the full champion as soon as possible, it has happened over and over.
Easy court win for Whyte IMO.

They can't have a purse bid until the arbitrator has issued a ruling on the purse split.

WBC making up rules by making 190 the new cruiserweight division and selectively enforcing mandatories.

That's just your personal bias speaking really, not reality.

He obviously deserves to be mandatory much more than anyone else. Wilder just had two more goes at getting it back.

Let's just talk sensibly instead of turning this into a slanging match.

The truth is Brazeale never should've been mandatory and the WBC heavyweight champion hasn't fought a real mandatory in YEARS. These rules and stipulations they make up are nonsense. Fighting mandatories is what makes champions. Fury would've never beaten Wlad if he never fought mandatories.

And if you are right about Canelo - Why has he gone to the WBC to ask for the fight? He could've just made Makubu an offer anyway. He's twisting the system because he knows the WBC are curropt and will bend to whatever he wants.

I know, broken record, but it's gotta be called out again.

Very interested in the court case, because the reality is that there is no real governing body overseeing the sport, so the WBC can do what they want - or at least they believe they can.

Seriously. Would love to see Whyte win a court case and then other boxers follow suit. Something needs to change.

Many champs will take the lower end of the purse to get to fight a superstar. He is probably going to make the biggest purse in his life for the non obligated title defense. With that kind of money any title will be for sale if they are not superstars.
