Lol, people keep saying Charlo, Charlo, Charlo. Like Benavidez said, Charlo is a p.ussy.

Fights nothing but fringe contenders once a year. Doesn't unify the division. Doesn't move up. His last fight, he went 12 with a guy that Munguia KO'd in 2. And somehow he's deserving of a PPV showdown with Canelo? Someone explain that logic.

"But but Yildrim". Ok then Charlo should get a Yildrim type payday. He should get some 800K for the Canelo. Some 95/5 type deal. Because that's what he deserves.

Charlo needs to fight Benavidez first early next year. Winner gets Canelo in the fall.

GGG/Canelo 3 in May. Unfinished business and at least GGG is unifying 2 belts at 160. Something Charlo has no intention of doing.

So Canelo is the sole source for his legacy? One fighter in his entire career determines whether or not you're viewed as a great fighter? Lol. And you call him an imbecile?

GGG had the opportunity to forge a great legacy, regardless of whether he was robbed or not vs Canelo. There are other fighters in and around the division not named Canelo you know. He should've taken out hypejob Andrade a long time ago. Should've fought BJS before Canelo. Should've taken Ward's challenge. Should've gotten Charlo to fight him. Except, since signing onto DAZN, he hasn't fought a worthy challenge. I'll give the Murata fight a pass since it's a unification, but he wasted his career on his own, and it had nothing to do with the Canelo fights.

Golovkin was always the biggest money fight out there for Alvarez. Golovin II was the 4th largest gate in boxing history (GGGI was the 3rd), with a total revenue of about 120 million.
Most fans wanted a 3rd fight but Saul decided he wanted to challenge himself against Rocky Fielding.

Ggg has always been the biggest money option available for canelo but for whatever reason Canelo hasn’t shown any desire to clear up the controversy, while Ggg hasn’t shown any desire to do much of anything since they fought. Their rivalry will always be filled with what ifs. What if canelo didn’t wait the fight out for 2 yrs, what if the judges hadn’t screwed ggg, what if they had a 3rd fight in a timely manner. As of now, the fight has passed its expiration date and even if they fight a third time now, it wouldn’t clear up any of the above questions.

Well yes, its not that strange of an idea for a fighter when beating the highest level fighter he has faced up to that point to be considered great. That was the scenario that presented itself in Canelo vs GGG 1 - we knew both were great fighters but neither had truly been in with a world elite level opponent until then so they both needed each other to find out who really was elite level and a potential Hall of Fame entree - which of course GGG won but was robbed with the draw.

Unless you don't rate Canelo's accomplishments and his so called P4P number 1 status then you'd have to agree that Golovkin unofficially beating Canelo does indeed determine his legacy - at a time when questions were being asked as to who was the beter fighter Golovkin proved his mettle.

Given their PPV’s sold 1.3 million and 1.1 million, I agree. They even sold more than fighters with bigger fanbases than GGG. 900k for Cotto, 1 million for Chavez Jr.

The 800k for Plant, shows Canelo’s massive popularity and ability to do good numbers with unknown fighters.

I am still surprised Canelo-Lara doing 300k buys. That was an awful opponent for PPV hype. Not even Canelo’s popularity at the time could overcome the known boring opponent.

But the problem I see with Canelo-GGG III, is that while it is biggest money fight for Canelo, it is not necessarily the best. This is due to GGG’s age and decline.

Canelo vs Mayweather II would be the biggest money fight for Canelo, but it would mean nothing to beat a 45 year old retired fighter.

Beating a 40 year old, past prime, and near shot, would do nothing for Canelo’s resume. Besides that, Canelo critics who want Canelo vs GGG III, would change their tune if Canelo beats him. They will say GGG is old, which would be true.

Perhaps, but you're telling me that Canelo vs Benavides or Charlo doesn't do big numbers? IDK I think at this point it would be on par with the amount of PPV Canelo, GGG would sell. Canelo vs Charlo I bet would come close to selling 100k+ tickets for Cinco de Mayo at Cowboys stadium, would be absolutely electric, on the flip side, you can also put Canelo vs Benavides or GGG at Raiders stadium in Vegas on that same date and that would probably sell out. Regardless who it is, it's going to do great business.

As long as clenelo can make big money in zero risk trash fights he will never fight a Golovkin again. Golovkin at 40 years old is more dangerous than Plant in his prime on steroids.

Said it last week..2022 he fights Golovkin..then Dirrell..the we se him once a year until he quits in 2024-2025
he is not fighting anyone in their prime that's African American and athletic.
Saul "The Anglo-Assasin" Alvarez. This guy has beaten the anglos to a pulp.
