Can you blame them? Facing Golovkin at that point must've been psychologically and physically terrifying; a well oiled, technically efficient beating machine who would not stop coming forward until you was either knocked out or saved by the ref.
only at 35, as the onset of athletic decline slowly started to creep in did we see fighters such as Jacobs, Canelo etc suddenly find the ballz to get in there with him and he still had enough in the tank to beat them both.
Did Canelo ever give Lara a rematch? The world saw Lara beat a peak Canelo on that night - look at the state of Canelo's face afterwards, he was eating left hands down the pipe all night but as usual was bailed out by some ridiculous judging. Canelo then preceded to run away from the Charlo's and Andrade at 154lbs...
GGG fought Sergiy Derevyanchenko at 37 years old. Now, it was a close fight don't get me wrong but look at the state of Derevyanchenko's face afterwards - it literally looked like he got hit by a 18 wheeler; one eye badly cut, the other eye closed, his nose bleeding... that tells its own story not to mention Golokin scored a knockdown. For me, many others and the judges Golokin JUST won that fight by virtue of the knockdown but it was a win none the less.
Wasn't Canelo mandated to fight Derevyanchenko for the IBF MW championship? What happened there? oh yes he ducked to face the alcoholic, washed up, in need if money Krusher Kovelev. He literally left Golovkin to clean up his mess. Derevyanchenko was a high risk low reward fight for him and he knew it. The guy had serious amateur pedigree - from 390 fights he only lost 20... that was not going to be an easy fight for Canelo!
Everyone who isn't a Nelo fan can't wait to give his opponents every single close rd and fight.
Not to say us Nelo fans don't rally for Nelo. We have legit reasons to.
GGG fans (and those who CLAIM to 'neutral') always side with GGG
''GGG clearly won the 1st fight and maybe drew the rematch !''
''Nelo waited for GGG to get old !''
Boring
If GGG want that Nelo money, he should do something to EARN IT.

People still pushing for this dumb ass fight. ggg has done nothing to earn back this trilogy. He never made any splash since signing for dazn and he is becoming a huge liability with fighting low level opposition and not stepping up. Even if canelo's fights are carefully picked, he has made more splash and is way more active. They are so far apart that it doesn't make any sense, and canelo would destroy him handily this time. I thought canelo beat him up convincingly in the 2nd fight anyway to close that chapter.
