Canelo is an unbelievable fighter in his own right and a modern great himself, but there’s no way in hell he beats a prime Hagler. A peak Hagler gives Canelo a beating IMO.

      As you said man, levels…
Yeah I think this is a solid post.

These guys don’t understand that Marvin went on the road and beat the best guys in every city.

His resume is filled with really tough solid fighters that posters don’t know.

Canelo is a great fighter but I agree Hagler would dominate him. That is no knock on Canelo.

I think it would be a close fight, I give Hagler the edge. Now I think you can pick someone head to head while still having the other guy higher on an all time list because they've had a better career. Canelo has had a better career than Hagler, but Hagler beats him head to head. The work rate, stamina, and jaw are all time great for Hagler.

Canelo is very good but Hagler was special.

              Gonna get flamed now lol
i wasn't scoring the fights. I don't score fights anymore because it takes away from my enjoyment, but I thought Plant won a LOT of rounds. 8-2 in Canelo's favor was atrocious. No way.

Based on what? There’s literally not one thing Canelo does better than Hagler. Not one!

That's what I thought, too. But that war would last a little more than Hagler vs Minter.

The John Mugabi who gave hell to Hagler would be enough to knock Canelo out. Both Hagler and Mugabi were superb boxers.
