    Yes he would .

First off Hagler would be one of the smaller guys Canelo would have faced from 160-175 he was small for MW. I love Hagler but would be countered to death by Canelo both guys have granite chins so no stoppage here.

But to give triangle theories of don’t work in boxing.

Hagler is a legend and ATG. But Fact is Canelo is a living legend and doing ATG things.

To even say Hagler would just run through this version of Canelo is not wise.

Hagler is top three of my favorite fighters ever but he just doesn’t dismiss Canelo as easy as you think. It would be a heck of a fantasy fight.
Typical boxing fans Theory saying no modern great in they’re opinions would beat greats of the past.

Canelo would most likely beat everyone from the Hagler. hearns, Duran and Leonard era because he’s naturally bigger then all of them.

A better question is "what would the Marvelous One have done to a guy like Plant? "

That fight would have been intriguing. Hagler would have been a very serious threat to Canelo Alvarez because he had power, could hit and can walk Canelo down.

              Good post.

It was 6 years after. Duran was past his peak but he was far from washed, the Hagler fight was on the back of Duran stopping Davey Moore, that’s hardly a bad run of form.

                Come on man…

Have you actually watched or studied that era?

I’m not saying he isn’t competitive but Hagler beats him up and Ray outboxes him. He possibly gets to Hearns late if he survives the early rounds and he’s likely too much for Duran due to natural physical advantages.

Tommy Hearns is a bigger dude than Canelo too, it was same day weigh ins in the 80’s, imagine how much Tommy would rehydrate with 36 hours between weigh in and fight.

Hagler is the far superior fighter in every way IMO. Plus, his stamina was incredible
People are forgetting how bad of a man Hagler was. We’re talking about a top 2 middleweight of all time here.

This is where we overrate fighters from previous eras, Canelo beats him pretty easily.

Hagler by UD in a brutal war that leaves Canelo with more bruises and cuts than any fight in his career.
