Canelo has definitely improved since his fight against mayweather but it’s unfair to say that Floyd deliberately got him when he was too inexperienced. Canelo was 23 and mayweather was 36 I believe. Floyd was no spring chicken and people have been saying before that fight that he lost his legs in the mosley fight.

to the people that like to discredit floyds win over Canelo what would be the appropriate time for that fight to take place?

There is no "right" time for a fight. Any version of Floyd beats any version of Canelo, incomparable imo.

Also, it's cute you're in fanboy mode here, but Canelo isn't #1 p4p and imo never has been. There has always been a superior fighter in activity. Sure, he'll be recognized in history but so will many fighters, some less known, others more known, some achieving less, some more.

Withy hat said if you don't consider Canelo the greatest boxer in t he world, stop watching Boxing.
Imagine me simply stopping to watch a sport I've loved most of my life and practice daily, because you disagree with my p4p list. A laughable suggestion.

The list is subjective to begin with, but I dont rate him #1 and he has never held that spot for me. I don't consider that some crazy take either, and 99% of the sheep here only rate him that high because it's the media narrative.

In perfect world right after Canelo's 2nd fight against GGG but Mayweather was to old by then . Not to mention Canelo to big , Floyd's a small dude only weighed 155 against Logan Paul when the weight limit was 160

I love how you say this like they are different people. Floyd only added to his repertoire over the years, there isn't anything he was capable of doing earlier that he was no longer able to do later. Fighters also learn to fight smarter, they should anyway, not all have the IQ to understand how and why.

When I speak of doing, I mean actual boxing, not stamina, or similar. He was simply more active earlier in his career, if we're being honest, he never really needed to be, maybe the ODLH fight goes differently if he throws less, but Floyd is a guy would could have won most of his fights basically picking how he wanted to win them, as opposed to fighting the only way he could win.

It’s appropriate that their legacies are linked. Floyd beat a young bull Canelo who would go onto become an all time great too. Canelo is the king now and his legacy gets better and better which enhances Floyd’s legacy.

If you could magically make this prime Canelo 154 lbs and send him back to fight a 36 year old Floyd I think it’s still an easy win for Mayweather.
Get rid of this idea that resumes change based on events after the fact.

A fight is assessed and valued based on what we knew, and how we saw both fighters right before, and on fight night. Period.

I would disagree here I would think there’s always a right time to fight an opponent almost always that’s why they are usually managed carefully in match making . I’m surprised I would imagine you would be on the other side of the fence here as Canelo brings that old school mentality to boxing it seems .

I think Canelo is a different animal now ,I believe between the best fighters there should be multiple fights to see who really is better ,boxing is the only sport where one fight can determine who’s better and who’s a bum which is ridiculous imop . I’ve seen countless fights where a losing fighter is ducked or avoided because he comes back stronger , what do you think of title fights if they are contracted to fight 3 times within 6 months ? I know it’ll never happen but I always thought it would give a better outcome and maybe an additional fight if the loser wins the last fight ? Idk just my two cents . I think The Fury vs Wilder fight is a decent example , all those fights were great ones imop .

naw, older Floyd no longer had that leaping left hook, and lacked the speed of his legs he had earlier..he also wasnt putting punches together like he use to
