Never before in history has a boxer been not crucified for dropping out of a fight & making no secret that it was to avoid risk.(no coincidence Hearn came out & immediately said he doesn't plan on fighting Wallin ever,& will never release mris even to Wallin who got screwed out of training camp fees, accomodations, time, etc.)

You can paint it how you want but it still boils down to Whyte getting cold feet at last min even though he was letting everyone down who bought tickets, rooms, etc.(as BJS would say"you sht yourself")

That's a valid point. I wonder if they offered any kind of refund? Usually, there is a disclaimer that the card is subject to change that gives them an out. Sometimes they go ahead and offer a refund. I know I'd be upset if I bought tickets for a significant HW fight and I ended up with a main event between two female fighters.

THIS.... Whyte waited long enough. He had a fight scheduled and was going to fight. Got injured. Now that it is there, there is no need to wait anymore. Sucks to be Wallin but what exactly did he do? He was given an opportunity for a paycheck. He was a voluntary and owed nothing.

Besides, DAZN already said they would give Wallin another fight and a paycheck, and offered him to fight Babic which he declined. WBC came out and said Whyte is under no obligation to give Wallin a rescheduled fight.

We have an obligation to consolidate two WBC belts... might as well do it.

Yes, Hearn said everyone offered a refund. Wallin was offered Babic as a replacement on hte same date. Wallin said no.

I don't blame him. As much as I enjoy Babic attempting to decapitate glorified club fighters, Wallin needs to be fighting guys a little more relevant than him.

Just wondering, because as far as I can tell Whyte is the 1st fighter who actually is being justified in ducking out of a fight from straight up fear of losing the fight he signed up for. And all I'm hearing is,"Whyte is justified because he'd loses the Fury fight if he loses"

So what,if he loses to Wallin then its because hes a bum who doesn't deserve to be fighting Fury simples.

Lets see who actually has guts to stick up for their argument that Whyte is justified.

            1) the day after the statement, the doctor came out and confirmed the injury and the surgery. The doctor in question works for Leicester City FC, a premier league club.
            https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxin...xtent-25265040

also, this guy isnt whyte's 'personal doctor'. He isnt working 'for whyte'. He works for Bupa (a private health service).

Dillian sustained a shoulder injury during training in preparation for his planned fight on October 30 2021, which I have assessed and confirmed with diagnostic imaging," Singh said.

"I have treated the injury, but the injury will unfortunately prevent him from fighting in October. With immediate rest, physiotherapy and rehabilitation there should be no enduring concerns."

otto wallin came out 2 days later saying 'weve not heard anything from the doctor' which was a straight lie aswell.

We know whyte has had shoulder problems several times already.

            2) since he's injured and out till next yr, it makes no sense doing a 12 week training camp (3 months) to fight wallin in March/april when Tyson Fury will be ready to fight around then too. IF he can get tyson fury next, then that's a preffereble option now.

            3) otto wallin was supposed to be a 'stay busy' fight, not a mandatory position fight. wbc didnt mandate a wallin fight as some final eliminator. so he owes wallin nothing. It would be on the basis of goodwill only.

fights get cancelled due to injury. happened to tyson fury when haye got injured.
Whyte picked otto wallin. He didnt owe wallin anything. Then wallin's promoter salita went whining to wbc trying to effectively get whyte in trouble and land otto wallin into a mandatory spot. Wtf? whyte is obv pissed off. Eddie said he normally feels a responsibility to help out a fight get a replacement fight, but since salita opened his gob, eddie feels put off helping them.

sidenote: when the miller-aj fallout happened, eddie also fell out with salita. He never publically spoke about salita directly, but he did tell ifl/kugan that 'someone we were working with/helping, went directly to dazn's head people and tried to get them to sack me' (not his exact words but to that effect).
The dazn ppl then told eddie hearn.
Eddie added 'we were putting food in their mouths'.

next thing you know, eddie never dealt with salita again and his fighters inc Claressa shields, who eddie was hot on for a long time prior. so it took some serious doing to put eddie in that position. it makes sense it was salita. Dazn is owned by ukranian ***s. Salita is a ukranian ***. He wanted the contract, tried to fk over eddie. you only need to look at salita to know he's a p****.
The feeling i get is that eddie swallowed his pride and gave salita a call knowing that these days he has boxxer, wasserman, top rank (all of them, also ***s btw) working against him.
first chance salita got 'yap yap yap'. He looks like a slimey peice of work too.

            4) 'if he loses to wallin, he was never worthy of fury'
yeh, but this is prizefighting and fury is a £5-8m fight, whilst otto wallin isnt even a £1m fight for Whyte.

the only way that fight happens if whyte (who has always been a free agent) fights on bt sports.

This is a fraudulent claim. An injury is identifiable like a tendon or ligament strain but the doctor doesn't tell us what it is. Most athletes have pain from training but that doesn't mean you call in sick. It is like someone calling in to work saying they are sick and somewhere in there a "cough" "cough". LOL.

I wonder how much this doctor got his pockets lined with? Whyte should have to pay Wallin's estimated purse for the cancelled fight out of his purse for the Fury fight. The WBC will not have that though because they got their pockets lined too.

This type of excuse would not cut it back in the 70's or 80's.

He also said Fury was a coward for dropping out v Wilder,(& unlike Whyte,Fury actually rescheduled & kod Wilder,Whyte has no shame.

You're argument makes no sense because Whyte signed to fight Wallin having already known Fury was fighting Wilder on October 9th,& that he was next in line unless Fury goes to unification (but nothing has changed, the Wbc still will give Fury the chance to delay it because he already fought #1 Wilder(Whyte is ranked below Wilder still is on every ranking)
I think he thought AJ would of won his fight therefore the unification between Fury and Aj is no more, so he had to have a fight Booked.
Now he knows Fury isn't fighting AJ next he pulled this bull**** out of his ass cause he wants to fight Fury next.

Isn't it fear of losing that drives decisions for every fight?

Joshua v Wilder didn't get made. If you didn't fear losing you'd just make the fight. Why did Fury and Wilder want a rematch? Or Joshua? They all feared losing.

Every fight that didn't get made ever was due to fear of losing. And in the heavyweights, anyone can lose.

Why did Fury fight Schwarz or Wallin? If he didn't fear losing he'd have taken much more lucrative fights. He could have ended Wilder a couple of years ago.

I don't think you understand what 'fear' is in this context. It's not fighters shaking like a schitting dog at the prospect of facing an opponent. It's a calculated risk based on the standard of the opposition compared to what they stand to gain.

It was Whyte that picked Wallin. He clearly doesn't fear him. But is it an unnecessary risk? Absolutely! He's got everything to lose and nothing to gain. If he's got an out, and it sounds like he does have some sort of injury, then he'd be some kind of lunatic to fight Wallin with a title fight about to be ordered.
