This is a fraudulent claim. An injury is identifiable like a tendon or ligament strain but the doctor doesn't tell us what it is. Most athletes have pain from training but that doesn't mean you call in sick. It is like someone calling in to work saying they are sick and somewhere in there a "cough" "cough". LOL.

I wonder how much this doctor got his pockets lined with? Whyte should have to pay Wallin's estimated purse for the cancelled fight out of his purse for the Fury fight. The WBC will not have that though because they got their pockets lined too.

This type of excuse would not cut it back in the 70's or 80's.

1) Otto Wallin came out 2-3 days later complaining that the doctor hadn't said anything...but the doctor had clearly told the media that he'd identified a shoulder injury and operated on it.

For the record, Dillian Whyte trains at Loughborough university. Loughborough is a town close to Leicester where the doctor is from. The doctor, works with Premier league footballers, with Rugby players etc. Sports with far more money than boxing, so much for your 'how much this doctor got his pockets lined with'.

2) like whyte said, if he wanted to lie, he would have done it weeks earlier and avoided paying for a training camp, sparring partners etc.Why did he pick Wallin as a credible stay busy fight then? He didnt need to do that. Wallin was not a mandated/forced fight, he chose wallin.

3) wallin will get what he agreed to in his contract. Tyson Fury did the same thing when he called off a scheduled/booked fight bs Agit Kabayel.

Surely it's an easy decision? Fight Fury in early 2022 for the WBC belt, or fight Wallin instead for nothing, in the hope that the best case scenario would be a World Title fight in 2023.
