If you go talking **** about how you whooped this guy and whooped that guy, you won't get good sparring ever again. I believe Peterson held his own, I truly do because the only reason his camp said something was to tell the truth about the bull**** coming out of Mayweather camp.

Mayweather is a proud and arrogant fighter, he doesn't want to lose anything he does and I'm sure it was a tightly contested battle and he didn't like it. To say that Peterson would have ran his mouth though is wrong because there are certain unwritten rules in boxing and running your mouth after a heated sparring session is a no no....
Co-sign. That poster is clown that knows nothing about the boxing biz and how things are handled in sparring. People don't talk about it.

I am probably less skeptical than most. A guy who has been off says that he gets a minor injury? OK, I can buy that.

I DO, however, believe that Floyd is rusty. I have always said that the things most affected by a long layoff are the things Floyd relies on:

      timing
      accuracy
      speed
      coordination
      stamina
      composure

Take whatever you do the VERY BEST. Now stop doing it for two years. Come back to it. How would you do at first?

Keep in mind that Floyd's inactivity should be taken into a larger context. He has had FOUR fights since December, 2005. That's the same level of activity as.....Oscar Delahoya.

If Peterson is a speedy guy with decent power, then I am inclined to believe that he gave Floyd more than a handful. Look at all the people that Floyd built his reputation on and you would not see one speedy fighter in there except Zab Judah. And we all know that Zab was beating Floyd for the first 5 rounds of the fight. Who were the people who gave Floyd hell in sparring? Paul Spadafora and probably Lamont Peterson. I believe both are speedy guys. So there, you get a clearer picture. Floyd's reputation is built on speed. He isn't known for power. So far, Floyd has never shown himself capable of beating guys with both speed and power who could maintain pressure for 12 rounds. That's probably the reason why he insists Mosley is not a worthy opponent.

What's more, Spadafora is a southpaw, and the two guys who have stunned Floyd--Corley and Judah, are both southpaws, and Judah even knocked Floyd down. Now, do people wonder why Floyd priced himself out of a Pacquiao showdown by insisting on a 60-40 split in his favor?

The truth is PACQUIAO IS SIMPLY BAD NEWS FOR FLOYD. PACQUIAO HAS TONS OF SPEED AND POWER, BOUNDLESS STAMINA, CONSTANT AGGRESSION, AND HE IS A SOUTHPAW.

Mayweather-Pacquiao? Don't bet on it happening even if they both win their coming bouts unless Mayweather-Marquez flops and Floyd is so cash strapped.

Floyd's at a point of his career now where the fights he'll be in are going to be with fighters who come to fight and can ****. Hopefully for him this was a wake up call.

It was probably a pretty competitive two day session with both fighter's making it intense. If the report is to be believed.

My understanding is we are likely to get two sides of sparring session stories
when there are signed non-disclosure agreements.

And of course, not having video of such events makes it difficult to judge.

So they may have had some great sparring, which indicates Floyd is in his zone as the fight nears.

Someone has a sig pic of the fight with their feet circle-highlighted indicating Judah stepping on Floyd's foot.

Never seen Lamont Peterson but you post on a boxing board. On a Peterson/Mayweather thread you post about Manny Paq.

                  Off topic:

Seriously the moderators need to kick out alot of these damn paqsexuals. They bring nothing to the table for boxing discussion as far as facts. All they bring is tall tales of manny paq like he was Paul Bunyon.

it sound like to me, lamont got worked out the 1st day and Floyd and them was clowning him afterwards. lamont being a prideful good fighter came back for some more and had a better showing the 2nd day.

But why punch a man when he is drinking water, if your not frustrated by what he has been able to do to you. That is the tell-tell!!! if we both talking junk and i put work in...i'm laughing my a$$ off, not hitting him while he trying to drink some water!

I would love to hear this story from the Mayweathers, so far we heard from the sparring partners' trainers i.e. Peterson's trainer and the other guy's trainer whose name can't be said because the sparring is a secret. Please someone, anyone from Team Mayweather say something about this story.
