    1. Floyd needs good sparring. He can only get better, get quicker, react quicker, etc. Basically, he can shake off some of that rust.

    2. It'll help Floyd know where he's at. When Leonard was training for Hagler, he got dropped by a young (albeit future champ) Quincy Taylor during sparring. Shocked everyone - but it also forced Leonard to switch up his strategy, realizing he couldn't stand toe to toe and do the things he used to.

Don't see how a tough sparring session could be anything but good.
I agree 100% bro...I think that is one of the biggest parts of sparring..to get pushed to be 100% prepared for an upcoming fight. I am an athlete and I can't tell you how many times our football team got whooped up by the defense as we prepared for a game. That is part of it. You learn from those situations. This is not the first time nor the last time that a top fighter has gotten challenged in a sparring session. Based on what was said, I COMMEND Peterson! If I was in his position, I would have gave Floyd the business too! Competition finds a way to bring out the best in people. Big ups to Peterson, I've always liked him since he was fought in the ams.

I agree with you Matt. But as you said, NO disrespect to Peterson.

Exactly so. Even if Mayweather did not kiss the canvas, his glove clearly touched the canvas as the slomo showed, and that technically should have been ruled a knockdown although it wasn't called so by the referee.

Whether there is any truth to this story, I don't know. There is always two sides to a story. We're only hearing Peterson's side. I must say Team Peterson should get an A+ for MARKETING their fighter at Floyd Mayweather's expense. Attach yourself to Floyd "Money" Mayweather he is a HOT topic right now! You are bound to get some press... Go Team Peterson! "That's Some Clever Stuff."

Look at all the people that Floyd built his reputation on and you would not see one speedy fighter in there except Zab Judah. And we all know that Zab was beating Floyd for the first 5 rounds of the fight. Who were the people who gave Floyd hell in sparring? Paul Spadafora and probably Lamont Peterson. I believe both are speedy guys. So there, you get a clearer picture. Floyd's reputation is built on speed. He isn't known for power. So far, Floyd has never shown himself capable of beating guys with both speed and power who could maintain pressure for 12 rounds. That's probably the reason why he insists Mosley is not a worthy opponent.

What's more, Spadafora is a southpaw, and the two guys who have stunned Floyd--Corley and Judah, are both southpaws, and Judah even knocked Floyd down. Now, do people wonder why Floyd priced himself out of a Pacquiao showdown by insisting on a 60-40 split in his favor?

The truth is PACQUIAO IS SIMPLY BAD NEWS FOR FLOYD. PACQUIAO HAS TONS OF SPEED AND POWER, BOUNDLESS STAMINA, CONSTANT AGGRESSION, AND HE IS A SOUTHPAW.

Mayweather-Pacquiao? Don't bet on it happening even if they both win their coming bouts unless Mayweather-Marquez flops and Floyd is so cash strapped.
So all this lead up to you saying that Floyd is not able to
deal with Pacquiao? Floyd would school Pacquiao who fights
sometimes with his eyes close, head down, off balance
swinging. Boxing, counter punchers are Manny's biggest
nightmare. Why do people keep bringing up Zab? He got
some shots in but after was getting beat up & embarrassed
to the point he had to cheat his way out of a KO? AND Floyd
tried to get at Mosley twice? Mosley just reaping what he
sows right now. I believe Floyd can be beat but so far I
haven't seen a fighter that can do that with exception to
Paul Williams on a flawless night.

But why punch a man when he is drinking water, if your not frustrated by what he has been able to do to you. That is the tell-tell!!! if we both talking junk and i put work in...i'm laughing my a$$ off, not hitting him while he trying to drink some water!
That's the same thing I said before. Why hit a man when his
back is turned drinking water if your not tight and upset?

Hasnt ever seen Lamont Peterson. All the times his boring a$$ has been on ESPN or minor PPVs he has never seen him? What kind of boxing fan has never seen a fighter who fights pretty regularly on free TV?

Oh but he sure has heard ALL the Paq rumors!

I would take a Lamont fight on ESPN, rather than paying for a Mayweather-Baldomir for $50 bucks.
