like Ortiz, Perez and Solis. They were all hyped up, people have short memories.

and he’s about 40 really. He looked decent against Ajagba who is extremely limited.

he will get cleaned out before he ever gets to level of fighting someone like Fury.
Those fighters you mentioned were good fighters. They beat a lot of guys, they just were not the top guy. I still see your point that Sanchez is now the flavorr of the month apparently because he exposed a prospect coming up... Exposing prospects is not greatness, or even extreme goodness, I agree. Berlanger was also exposed, same situation. This is why we need to have these guys fight, get a pecking order, get the young guys knowing what they need to do before they fall in love with their power, or other such attributes.

Cuban fighters are quality fighters, they fight well, they usually are past their prime when they get here... I don't think that is hype. I do think that people look at a guy like Solis (one of my favorite fighters) and create unrealistic expectations and then... call them a bum (I know you are not doing that). Sanchez has good technical ability like most Cuban fighters. he has good explosive speed. He is a good fighter in a weak division and might go through a lot of guys because of that.

How highly do you rate him? Seems like there have been an infinite number of cuban pros that having lived up to their potential

He wasn't as accomplished as many of the big name Cubans though he does have some wins over them though did tend to fall short but there is no shame in narrowly being edged out by guys like Ruiz, Savon, Pero and the likes.
I have no doubt he will go on to do better in the pros than any of them will as he is more dedicated and has a better team around him and got out at just the right time. A lot of these Cubans have 350-400 amateur fights and are actually past it by the time they even turn pro.

I rate him very highly and think he can hang with the best of them. He is a real sleeper in the division.
Big, dedicated, fleet-footed, great defense and reflexes, high ring I.Q great accuracy and incredible handspeed - Truly some of the fastest hands I have seen a HW possess.
Can fight out of both stances, dedicated with a great team around him. I think he's a real problem & the Reynesos have a real gem there.

Lets not tar them all with the same brush. Those guys didn't defect from Cuba until a lot older and had real lengthy amateur careers.
They were carrying a ton of wear & tear and enjoyed the nightlife and food a little too much.

Sanchez is a gym rat and the Reyneso's don't seem the type to keep anyone around who isn't willing to put everything into the sport.

I think he is far more talented than those also apart from Solis but he has a lot of natural and physical attributes Solis lacked as well as the dedication.
