    Boxing’s New Ambassador Usyk

What great fighter ,even though I feel his win had more to do with what A.J didn’t do it’s a great win and showed this guy is real . I still will be picking .A.J in the rematch in a Ruiz rematch scenerio I feel many questions are needed . Joshua received a lot of poor advice in his corner ,I argued the firing of trainers are questionable most times but maybe it’s that time ?

Usyks a cool Kat ,if he spoke English it would be awesome, a very welcome addition to the heavyweights.

Either way Usyk is a great character,I dont think he’ll defend his belts with a win but there’s great fights out there for a Usyk . If anything I think putting him and Holyfield in comparison is at least warranted now .
billeau2 You got the first win cong**** , I’m still taking A.J in rematch . I’m also taking Ajagba in the fight against Sanchez if we are betting on that one ?

Just stop with this BS narrative and give Usyk the credit he deserves.

Usyk didn’t allow AJ to do what he does, the feints and the movement had AJ completely befuddled, he was reluctant to commit with attacks because he was regularly missing and getting tagged with sharp counters.

Some of you guys really don’t understand boxing.

AJ had his moments... His attitude is also A1. It takes a lot to sincerely to take a setback and learn from it. The press conference was revealing... People can do amazing things when they refuse to accept what they allegedly "cannot" do.

Agreed. Usyk was quite simply the better man, and technically so much better that he more than made up for the size difference.

AJ needs a completely different game plan. And for that he will need a different trainer. But if they really go for the immediate rematch, I wonder if AJ will have enough time to change.

Personally, I think he needs time to try and adapt and evolve. This isn’t a Ruiz 1 situation where he just has to make simple adjustments.

AJ could potentially win an immediate rematch but it would only paper over the cracks. I think it would be the smart decision to take a backwards step to rebuild and redevelop, however, the fighter in Joshua will want to avenge his loss.

Yes this is correct. Let's not forget that AJ dropped Ruiz and incorrectly decided to go in for the kill when his opponent was still dangerous and paid for that mistake. The adjustments needed to change the result weren't anything extreme. Ruiz compounded matter by coming into the rematch unprepared and in poor mental/physical shape.

Usyk won't be pulling a Ruiz in the rematch and. Not sure AJ can can make the necessary changes by March or April.

Did you know A.J let Usyk have his belts and he gave A.J them when A.J was in his towel in the locker room prior to the fight ? I understand respect but that’s again showing shades of Ruiz 1 , what about his triple jab ? Stopped doing that and the uppercut body shot as though he didn’t want to hurt him? IDK and what about him sit down after the final bell ? Not a good look .

I know one thing I retract my previous statements that you don’t know heavyweight boxing , maybe you do but I’m still confident AJ does win the rematch with or without McCracken though in this fight his instructions were very controversial to what we heard .

I agree. Ruiz is a lower tier HW who sprung an upset, Usyk is a world class fighter who did what we expected him to do and AJ simply couldn’t deal with it.

I’ll put it this way, there’s more Usyk can do in the rematch to trouble AJ than AJ can do to trouble Usyk.

Usyk is the new overrated flavor of the month. He’s alright but nothing special…I mean AJ was wrecked more spectacularly by a guy with **** ffs. Usyk looked average against chisora. AJ is just not that good and anyone decent will outbox him and someone with power will wreck him. Ruiz softened AJ up for Usyk. Canelo is levels above Usyk in every department.

Human potential... its something I would never bet against. Logically? It does not seem so, but people do amazing things that defy conventional limits. it would make a great story! A true fan sticks by their guy anyway right? I may say something like, "James Toney would not beat Jones in a rematch" but you know what? I would be rooting for Toney, one of my favorite fighters and I would make a case for the possibility. I get sticking by Joshua. Its why British fighters get so much support and why I admire British fans, and I never put Sid Knee on blast lol... being a loyal follower of a fan is not to be criticized, it is to be respected.
