Holmes lost two razor tight 15 round decisions to Spinks. Holmes then went 21-3 after Tyson. Klitschko lost wide to Fury. He then got knocked out by Joshua and promptly retired. I think you're mistaking excitement with having something left in the tank. If Klitschko had anything left in the tank, he would have knocked out Joshua like that fat Mexican Ruiz did.

You have to assume fans will overrate their guy. Turns out boxing big heads who are supposed to be knowledgeable and unbiased on the subject feel Mike was legit.
Add Wilder fans to the list of those who overrate Wilder.
Wilder is the worst boxer ever and he also has the worst resume ever.
The only thing they use in selling the bum is his exaggerated power that's yet to KO any solid boxer. He couldn't even spark a Fury who has a shaky chin and that's the only decent boxer he has fought.
Fury fans called Wilder a bum up until he beat him. Then Wilder became some ATG who has the power to lay waste to every other HW that ever lived.Comment

And who did he beat in this run?

Wlad would've returned and sparked Wilder, Whyte, Parker and Pulev (again) if he wanted to. He just decided it wasn't worth it.
The fat Mexican would destroy the Douglas that sparked Tyson out clean. Douglas was getting sparked by cans like David Bey and Mike White.
Douglas was a can himself and a career journeyman but somehow sparked Tyson out clean. Ruiz on the other hand would become a world champ in the nearest future.Last edited by BangEM; 09-23-2021, 11:04 PM.Comment

Right, and Floyd has never had any connection to any PBC event ever during his fighting career so what are you talking about? My post is still there - I said Haymon/PBC. That’s self-explanatory.
So an event promoter who left events for boxing is an “advisor”, no?

I guess you’re one of those Al bum boys and you’ll deny the obvious if it were to be tattooed on yer face. Hell yeah, Mayweather was a free agent with Al Haymon the “advisor” as his hang bag and a TV deal with Showtime.
The first free agent in history who was tied to a TV deal and a handbag as “advisor’ but the handbag was in charge of deals for his fights.
Patterson retired in 1972 but somehow a Frazier who turned pro in 1965 didn’t fight him. But somehow Ali and a host of others fought him.
Frazier also somehow missed fighting Norton, Shavers, Lyle and Young who’re his era.
Frazier might actually be as overrated as Wilder tbh. if he hadn’t beaten Ali - I doubt anyone would remember him tbh.
Listen, either explain when and how Frazier ducked Norton and Patterson or just shut the fuck up
Simple.
Saying they were all active at the same time and didn't fight, is not a explanation for ducking.
When - What year did he duck them?
How - What did he do to duck the fights?; Break down the time line.

Most of these talking heads are just hot takes merchants - they don't analyse boxers/fights. They mostly go with whatever narrative people find interesting. It's just like the NBA/NFL where when they don't like a player - they only focus on his weaknesses. But with players they like, they hype them to heaven like they have no weaknesses.

Wilder is a bum and the most protected boxer in history. Heck, the guy never fought a real mandatory - they handpicked bums and made them mandatories for him when he was holding the belt. The most overrated boxer in history with zero boxing skills.Comment

Yeah. These ''experts'' fell in love with Mike sending BUMS flying across the ring. He was nothing more than a bully.

There are no HWs of this era that impress me. I feel Joe Hipp would be a massive threat to these HWs.Comment
