whats your cotto-pac prediction? If you were a woman, I would consider marrying you. Saying that, Mosley should have fought, but he is penciled in to fight probably the most technically sound WW in Clottey. Also come one Pacquiao brings more money, but legacy wise it isn't much. The writer is making it seem like Cotto isn't goign to fight a smaller man that he should KO.Comment

shane fought & beat margarito january of 09. its now september. he couldve had 2 fights by now vs berto, paul williams, cintron, or whoever & have had 2 paychecks, 2 possible great wins, a leg up on fighter of the year, stay current in boxing fans minds, & have major bargaining chips vs any big fighter.
Instead he remained inactive complaining about not getting fights & getting older. He completely killed all the momentum he had with that margarito victory & might have killed any semblance of a fanbase or the little notoriety he had to begin with.
He was so busy trying to get boxing rich fast by playing the pacquiao mr.counterfeit cash lotto instead of working for his money like a blue collar boxing professional.
Horrible career decision.
Good post!!!
Same thing with clottey when he won the vacant title against judah.Sat around for mths didn't take his mandatory deadline and was strip to kill the unification with cotto.
Shane had mutiple chances to make a quick buck after margarito.Amid if he chose some less threatining opponents. You can only ride that victory wave for so long.Comment

bigpoppapump, please delete this duplicate post. the site is obviously acting upI agree with you. The writer told some truth, but why criticize him as if Shane hasn't fought everybody, and hasn't been on top since the ****ing 90s. This article could be applied to Berto or Floyd, but not Shane, no way no how. Also other than money there is no bigger legacy fight at 147 than a fight with Shane. I'll take a close loss that could have gone your way and a dominant KO ass kicking win over a razor thin win and a KO loss to determine who is better any day.

I think Mosley beats Cotto in the rematch withAlthough I believe Cotto would beat Mosley again I am all for a rematch after this series of fights that are coming up. And I wouldnt be surprised if Floyd gets left out that time around. Floyd wins and prices himself out against Cotto (who I believe will win) who will not be willing to take a miniscule percentage after a win over the supposed number 1 pound for pound.
If Pac fights again (before trying politics again) it will be either against JMM or perhaps somebody like Valero or Khan. Money issues between Pac and PBF would be overwhelming and PBF would probably say he has nothing to prove against a Pac that lost to a ****ty (in his mind) Cotto.
After all that **** I just wrote, basic argument is that the easiest fight to make if all this goes down is Mosley/Cotto II. And I'm ok with that.
****m Richardson in his corner. First fight was
close to me but Cotto won and I'm not mad at it.
But now, Mosley has a trainer that keeps him in
check and has him stick to the plan. I remember
****m telling Mosley in the corner of the Margarito
fight to "just box him don't brawl with him because
your faster than him" When/If that fight ever happens
Cotto loses. The fight I would like to see is Floyd/Cotto
when it is all said and done.Comment

While I agree that Cotto beat Mosley clearly, even though it was still close, Cotto would not have won the Marg fight even without the harder-than-usual pads he had on. Margarito would beat Cotto 7/8 times out of 10. Mosley would beat Margarito 10 out of 10 times and maybe beat Cotto a similar amount of times that Margarito would beat Cotto.
Triangular theory however doesn't work in fights and it doesn't work in ranking either. All sports are the same: There are three top teams; If team A beats team C, but then loses badly to team B, team B goes to the top of the heap. If team C then comes along and destroys team B by utter domination then they go to the top! That's just how it is. If team A wants to get back to being the true 'A' team then they have to repeat the first win over team C (now team A really).
But, to argue your point about the Marg win over Cotto coming all of a sudden. Well, that is just pure nonsense. Go back to the second round. Cotto backs up to the ropes and while lying on them takes a monster uppercut that starts his nose bleeding badly. No hardening would have taken place by then of his pads. It was just a great punch and he landed those over the whole fight. Honestly, the pads wouldn't have made any difference. Margarito just had the style to beat Cotto and it was definitely an eventual thing. It was not sudden. Cotto got beat up over the whole fight to the point where he was exhausted and couldn't go on. No one punch did the damage. It was an accumulation over the course of the eleven rounds. Cotto started moving too much by the sixth, seventh rounds and was basically backing up without doing anything effective by the ninth and tenth.Comment
