It's a bit too premature to call at this moment. Let's just wait and see in a few weeks until the eye fully heals before we presume that his boxing career is over. Retina detachments can be successfully treated and many fighters have gone on to resume their boxing careers. The prognosis is very good when detected early.
Errol Spence is officially done.

It's far from being a death sentence. There are far worse like Kell Brook's.
Then there's Margarito, who seem to have new girl friend every so often.
The Truth will be okay.
At least now fans can move on from that Crawford/Spence fight which
I predicted will never happen. I'm right.Comment

His career is potentially over if this surgery doesn’t fix it properly. Having the best doctors doesn’t ensure a perfect outcome. No one knows the severity of the detachment. It was severe enough to not allowed to fight to go on which was only a couple weeks away and get immediate surgery. Who knows a perfect surgery may just be he is now allowed to see properly with glasses but not be cleared to fighter. Weird as that may sound, that thinking is not way off.
Imo he hasnt been the same post drunke car accident. Now with this, he’s going to have another extended layoff before he gets to fight again, if he’s allowed to. But now he comes back with a surgically repaired eyes which doesn’t help out.
Fact is, if and when he comes back he is going to be past it prime wise. Imo mostly all of those Mega fights that were in his reach now all of a sudden are now far flung dreams.Last edited by True-Boxing-Fan; 08-17-2021, 09:32 PM.Comment

Once again you're making assumptions as if you have a medical degree they clearly doesn't exist. Chill. If Spence comes back, he will have his pick of fights. Stop assuming you know where his body is at. None of us do. That's up to his physicians and specialists. But he was projected to make a full recovery so I wish him the best and we will see. All this doom and gloom from you guys is just weird and comes of really poorly.

I think he will fight again, but his opportunities at mega fights are gone. Which pretty much means his career is over.
