yes, but his previous fights was against danny and mikey... it's not like he;s been in wars or took major punishment.. i never said he had vision problems going into the danny fight... i am pointing out that he probably knew about it going into the fight but brushed it off because he didnt feel the need to do it then.
I mean he is a freaking boxer that gets punched in the eye for a living...Did Mares get in an accident for him to have a detached retina? How about SRL? I'm not saying this didn't happen from the accident, just saying we don't know.
If he was having problems with his vision, I doubt he would have gone on to face Danny. You don't play with that, especially in boxing. It could be that there is a tear but it is not detached fully and his vision for the most part feels fine to him.
because if he did take time off after the danny fight, he wouldnt have gotten the pac fight.. a win over pac is 10x meaningful than his win over danny... he wanted to use that leverage of having a win over manny when he comes back from surgery. but as the fight got closer, his team probably felt it wasnt smart to risk it... why would he pull out 11 days from the fight? so you are telling me, after the danny fight, and right when he signed to fight pac, he never had any doctor's exam done on him until 11 days out from the fight???????? common sense bruh...Comment

But he is still sparring and can get hit in the eye and it's not like he didn't get hit at all against Mikey or Danny...In particular, Danny.

yes!! but like i said, the injury was there already! you dont suffer this type of damaged in sparring with full head gear on... you might make it worst, yes... which is likely the case here. like i said, you really think he never had a doctor's exam done on him since the danny fight?????? and 11 days out from the pac fight, he finally gets a doctor's exam done on him?? come on now...Comment

Yes!!! so you are telling me after the mikey fight, there was no exam done on him to see if he's ok after the fight?????
then when he signed to fight danny... there was no doctor's exam done on him???????? which would have caught the eye damaged.... then after the danny fight, there was no follow up exam done on him??
then when he signed to fight manny.... he finally gets a doctor's exam done on him 11 days out from the fight??????
COMMON SENSE!!!!Comment

I don't know what you mean here? When did I say he didn't get an eye exam for Danny? All I'm saying is the accident could have caused this injury or it could have been the fight vs Danny or the sparring that proceeded it. Also, Nevada is a more strict eye exam than other states. So IF he did get this injury from the car accident, it is possible he wouldn't have passed the eye exam to fight Danny if the fight took place in Nevada instead of Texas. Or maybe he did suffer the injury afterwards and still would have failed the eye exam regardless of where it took place.

so you are telling me he got an eye exam for the danny fight but the damaged wasnt there yet? but you said he could have got it in the mikey fight... so pre exam for the danny fight shows nothing and post exam shows nothing???

then when he signed to fight manny, there was no exam done on him until 11 days from the fight?????? so he trained for the manny fight without any doctor's exam and then 11 days from the fight he decided maybe he needs one now? something is not adding up here! it's common sense!

spence fought danny end of 2020.. he didnt get the pac fight until mid 2021... so from dec 2020 until aug 2021, he didnt bother to get a check up even after a car crash like that... so he signs to fight the biggest fight in his career at this moment and never bother to get a pre exam done to see if he's healthy since this is the biggest fight of his career.... then 11 days out and he decided that he needs one now?

What? You responded to my post a page prior saying this happened during the accident and I said while that is certainly possible, there is no guarantee that's how he suffered his injury. Other fighters have had the same injury as Spence and they got it without being in an accident. This is boxing, when you get hit in the head, face etc, you can suffer injuries.

What I'm telling you is that he maybe didn't even realize he had any issues with the eye since he fought Danny and sparred all camp before this fight....And this all occurred after the accident. And to your question regarding a doctor's exam? Well no, why would he have another eye exam after the Danny fight? If he did and the doctor told him he could not fight, then he wouldn't have even gotten the Manny fight in the first place....Fighters only get these exams before their fights and every commission does their own types of tests.Comment
