Same reason why all the top ten avoid him, even if they win. He still can make them look bad. Like what Areola did to Ruiz.

Nobody knew how long Povetkin was going to be out and it was delayed twice (November and December). After the second delay, he opened his mouth and said if Povetkin was going to need alot of time to recover, he'd like an interim fight in February. He mentioned Ortiz name. Ortiz verbally accepted. In February, his rematch with Povetkin was announced.

If you want to say Whyte called out Ortiz and didn't follow up to make the fight, sure he did that. He fought the guy who he was intended to fight (the guy who sparked him) a month later than the interim fight he was talking about.

I don't rate Whyte high and I don't particularly like him. I don't recall ever pulling for him in a fight. I just don't subscribe to the narrative that anyone is avoiding Luis Ortiz.
To be fair I am not a supporter of either fighter.

I think Whyte has the better career and better resume. Whyte has also fought more top HW’s.

Plain and simple, Whyte has the better career and only an unbiased fan of their countrymen would say otherwise.

All I am saying is that Ortiz has shown interest in fighting the current top guys but he has not gotten any of them aside from Wilder. Unfortunately those two losses vs Wilder are the only thing fans can say of him. Despite Wilder’s only loss being to Fury.

Ortiz is in that situation where one can say “if the shoe fits, i’ll wear it.”

^Fans say losses to the best don’t matter. And that the best should fight the best win or lose.

Well Ortiz lost twice to a top 3 HW and now he is being ridiculed by fans as if he has 15 losses to journeymen. I can’t imagine if Ortiz lost to Povetkin by KO, what fans would have said.

My point is, having a loss or two now means you are obsolete as a fighter.

AJ, Wilder, Ortiz…in the past couple of years, all I read was how anyone can beat these 3. AJ has 1 loss, Wilder has 1 loss, Ortiz has 2 losses to 1 guy. But they are finished according to fans.

But then, generally speaking, fans want to mock the “0” and undefeated records, saying 0’s don’t matter. Then turn around and exaggerate 1 loss.

        Good comment and good points.

Honestly, I have no clue who wins between Ortiz and Whyte. I can see it going either way. Ortiz has better fundamentals and he can crack decent. I think he's got a solid chin too. His problem is he's old and his gas tank seems seriously compromised (whether that be his age or his blood pressure issues). His lack of any other quality opposition other than Jennings long ago and Wilder is frustrating. It also makes it hard to determine how good he really is.

Is Ortiz avoided or is he pricing himself out and/or waiting for a big payday? My guess is it's the latter being that he can't seem to get a fight with another decent PBC opponent and he turned down that AJ fight. At the end of the day, none of us definitively know unless we are in on negotiations and see actual offers and the fine print.

You literally went on and on about Ortiz career and how only one guy defeating him proves he’s a legit top guy still even if his last credible win was 6 years ago as though the resume as a whole is ignored to who he fought ?
I wouldn't call that an "argument" its an opinion. And my argument was: It is a weak division, and nobody but the top 3 dogs (Wilder, Fury and AJ) is part of a claim to fighting better competition, especially considering that Ortiz never lost to that competition.

So there you go redumber! HA! Going to go and try to make a friend loser? someone to fight your battles? See heres the thing: when Whyte was getting the hate Me and Jug both are on record as defending him... and other fighters that are/were talented and sht talked, like Razor Ruddock, etc. Got it?

Lol... Pleading? Just making a record... So its no mystery when you come back after your next embarrasment, what your behavoir is. You stick to trying to denigrate and cause strife when you are a moron and laughing stock. You, like Queenie never even met a fact yet. You don't know anything about facts, contracts, promoters, or fighters... you are wrong and get embarrased for it, even making up crap like you went on vacation, when you were chased off the forum, humiliated.

Its easy for me to remind you lol, stop trying to slick through, change your behavoir and be decent... thats your alternative, or keep takin the L's.

the only punchers he is going to fight are the ones who will get him an 8 figure payday. no way he fights a lefty with that kind of power. after his failed test he's not in a position to make demands. he can sit out or he can fight an "eliminator" for joshua or fury.

Whyte finally came to his senses in his match making.

He will do what other guys do, take easy touches while waiting on his WBC world title shot. fans of Ortiz are the last that should complain.

It doesn’t t matter if you defended him what’s the excuse for the current ******ity now ? You don’t have one you can’t it really not possible any sane person comes to the conclusion that Ortiz has the same resume as everyone else . Ha

There you go flip flopping again trying to redirect your what you said . It’s not even a weak division,a division isn’t weak with multiple Olympic champs and national ones ,you really are a lost soul and l Juggs doesn’t even like the guys you associate with on here how about that one ? Yet he never seems to make the fight to prove it.

Oh no! Jugglenutz doesn't like somebody so Billeau2 should not like them either.

What are you, in kindergarten? That explains you're reasoning skills. Or lack thereof.

Do you still insist that Joshua vs Fury is happening next?
