Are you trying to make a case that Manny won? If you are, skip it, absolutely no one with any boxing intelligence believes that bu!!shyte.Comment

I doubt it was intentional. He just couldn't get off bc he couldn't find Mayweather. That and the fact that he had to lunge in just to get in range. His physical disadvantages were more apparent than it was about lack of a gameplan. Gotta give credit to Mayweather. Nobody gets out of a fight with Pac as clean as he did. Even the guys that beat him came out damaged like they were beaten with brass knuckles. May did what he had to do to get the W. That's all that matters at the end of the day.Last edited by Griever0730; 08-09-2021, 09:05 PM.Comment

Which fights did Manny outbox the boxer? His aggression is the thing that made him an ATG. His speed, movement, subtle traps but let's not like act like he did not typically overwhelm people unless someone was able to control him to some degree and make him hesitant. JMM, Morales, and Mayweather specifically.
you have to approach every fight differently based on the style!!! just like when pac fights marquez, he has to slow down and pick his shots or he'll run into counters all night! isnt that what yall called "making adjustment"??????!!!!!! yall want pac to run in head first and get KO'd, but when that didnt happen, then yall said he loss..
his aggressive style works well against other come forward pressure fighters, because he can use his speed and throw his combos and then spin off when they are coming in... how is that suppose to be effective against a counter puncher who waits for you to come in and take lead?!! GEEZUS!!!
There's nothing wrong with doing one thing extraordinarily well like Manny. Also, the fear of being countered and the length, speed, and timing of Floyd is what caused exactly that. But sure, Manny and Roach devised a gameplan to outbox the greatest boxer of his generation. Sigh.Comment

Agreed. Manny fought a good fight all things considered. Maybe he could've sold out some more but it came at a cost I don't think he was willing to take at that point in his career.

He beats any of the other tops Welters that night.Comment

Agreed. Even now at his age, he is still a serious threat to anybody not named Mayweather. Would love to see how he deals with Spence being that he is the first southpaw he's seeing since Diaz back in '08. And Spence is far, far above what Diaz was. As a southpaw, this is a real rarity and can't wait to see how this one plays out.Comment

I think it's Floyd's aggression that made Manny outbox the so called pure boxer.

Video evidence supports it.
It's actually Pac that made him pay for over committing. Video evidence supports it.

bradley, vargas, broner, thurman, etc.... he wasnt aggressive like his usual self in any of those fights...

those fighters you mention, morales, floyd, jmm... those are boxer type fighters... so when pac approach fighters like them, he has to switch up his style a bit .. which is called "adjusting"!!!!! isnt that what yall always talk about on here? a fighter's ability to "adjust"??!!!!
so you want manny to be aggressive against counter punchers??? why??? so that he can get counter and you can come on here and say "he cant make adjustment, he was running into punches all night"... FOH!!!!

But what you're doing is saying that those other ATG fighters had nothing to do with how those fights were fought. Isn't that a bit odd and also a great coincidence?

Those fighters were able to slow the fight down to a pace they were comfortable with and Manny adjusted to that. Some cases, he won, which is a testament to his greatness but let's be honest here.
What did Manny say in the post fight interview for Floyd? Something along the lines of "he wouldn't stand still"? It's almost like he never saw Floyd fight before.Comment
