He was awful, I'd put him below the likes of Herbie Hide when he was wbo champ, at least Hide was fast.
Charles Martin was pretty bad too, but Martin probably has a little bit more upside than Stiverne.
I think Michael Bentt was worse if we are counting early days of the WBO champions, but yeah Stiverne, just a big fat sloppy bum with barely any skills plus he was old.
At least didn't originally win his title because his opponent hurt their knee...
Martin was winning the fight before the injury, and he's a better fighter than a late 30s stiverne. Martin has looked at least average since his title win, whereas stiverne,.... Well the less said the better.

I actually like Martin a bit as an eccentric weirdo puncher but that's not eniterly true. One judge had it 2-1 Martin other 2-1 Glazkov final judge had it 1-1. Dead even.
How much must you suck to lose a decision fighting the guy known for losing all rounds against everybody?
I mean, he lost a decision fighting Wilder, lol.
He's the David Benavidez of Heavyweight division. Benavidez won his belt against youtuber ronald gavril then lost it after testing positive for peds. He fought Dirrell (who lost to Yildirim but won via robbery on the cards) and got the belt back only to lose the belt again by not making weight.
Stiverne had a couple decent wins against Arreola when he picked up the WBA trinket. Martin didn't have any notable wins when Glazkov blew out his knee. I'd say Martin was the worse "champion" of the two based on their accolades up to that point. I think Martin has has surpassed him since then however.
Regarding Bentt, there was a docu-series (Netflix ( called "Losers" and one episode was about Bentt. He participated in the documentary and it's really interesting. Bentt is a cerebral guy who never really loved boxing but was forced into it by his father. He dealt with a lot of depression and self doubt I'm his career.

Yep that win was a decent at the time and yeah Martin has surpassed him at this point.

michael bentt beat tommy morrison in his prime my guy. that's a lot better than stiverne, or charles martin getting a title when some unknown euro blew out his acl.
