Cotto would most likely be ranked #1 though, due to the fact that he would of beat Clottey months ago... however, he can't jump Mosley... because that is years ago... that is way too much time to make judgment.

How can anyone claim that Cotto overtakes someone due to something he did 2 years ago, it doesn't make sense.
I don't put much on Cotto beating Mosley.

Question is if Cotto was no 1 was Margarit ono 2 in order for that to be for the title?

Cuz I'm pretty sure he wasn't.

Tata was the legit champ. The undisputed champ can drop belts after he becomes undisputed.

One victory made him the guy all the same. It took Zab two chances with the same guy Spinks to become the guy who Baldy then beat.

It seems like they just look at the last fight anymore.

They always look at the last fight.

            That's how it goes.

Seriously, this is coming from a guy who is a fan of Cotto... and I am probably starting to like Cotto more than Mosley just lately, because Mosley has just been bitching and moaning about people cause he wants a payday, I mean I don't blame him, but it got a bit annoying, but I still gotta be fair...

all this, he beat him , but he beat him, but he lost to him but not him stuff is dumb
It would be amazing, seriously... because WW division is one of the best division talent wise, if not the best... it would be huge if that was to happen... 140 is starting to look good, but a majority of them are prospects and it will take a bit of time for it to pick up, I see 140 being like 147 in a couple of years.

Anyway, a WW tournament would be crazy!

when cotto beats pac, he becomes #1 due to shanes inactivity. since ssm beat margo, cotto had 2 big W over clottey and pac (P4p#1)hopefully!!! imo the outcome of ssm vs clottey doesnt matter.

                  If, not when...

Anyway, thank you... that's the fairest way to look at it, I can understand people saying SSM loses his spot cause he hasn't been active enough... and because Mosley wouldn't have fought yet and Cotto would have had a win over Clottey whether it is close or not and a win over Pacquiao, that would mean your right... the Clottey vs SSM fight wouldn't matter anyway cause Mosley had been way too inactive to keep his spot.

In my mind, Clottey. He's at #3 in the world. His fight with Cotto (#2) could have gone either way and beating Mosley (#1) should put you in front.

That's the reason people don't care about belts, they're trinkets. It's all about fighting and beating the top guys. If Cotto beats Pacquiao and Clottey beats Mosley...just off GP they're not going to put Clottey over Cotto, just isn't happening.

Now if Cotto loses and Clottey beats Mosley, then you got an argument. The triangle theories don't really dictate anything more than debate.
