When Floyd came calling Canelo wasn't worth 100s of millions.

He still jumped at the chance. And even though he lost he was better off in the long run for it, because he learned from being in the ring with one of the best.

Plant is going to do the exact opposite if he ducks this fight. I simply can't co-sign that.

haymon has alot of figthers...and alot of "name brand" fighters to find fights and dates and money for.....more than any other guy in the business.....he as an extensive roster of guys .....and trust this...kownacki was not one of his top level priorities anyways...hes not a wilder, tank, spence etc.....he was a guy he was grooming to be an opponent for someone.....he was like an andy ruiz
He's keeping Plant from Canelo because he needs as many champions as he can before the Fox PBC renewal. He's looking out for his (Haymon's) interest. Plant is boring in and out of the ring. An extra year won't magically make him more popular especially with fighting bums and no-names like Truax, so how will the fight be bigger in a year? What if he never gets the Canelo fight?

First of all the Canelo payday will give Plant plenty of future.

Second, Plant is white so he will always have that large potential fanbase to draw from. Which will make it even easier to rebuild if he loses.

It's a win-win situation. The only ingredient missing is the balls to take the risk.

again....its a calculated risk...yes something could happen and he might never get canelo fight....but thats the choice theyre willing to live with

stop trying to tell me haymon is only looking out for himself.....hes never done that and hasnt had a fighter accuse him of that ever and his fighters basically NEVER leave him........when danny jacobs got a great offer from hearn/DAZN he had danny take it and didnt interfere or try to talk him out of it...you are aware he still advises danny right?!?! its a joke when you guys try to accuse haymon of being for self...you have no evidence...only evidence of the contrary

lol....thats ridiculous..."hes white so hell have a large potential fanbase to draw from"....thats crazy talk..absured and you know it........you just want to bash plant/haymon here.....its obvious......you keep comparing plant and canelo...they ARE NOT the same

if canelo pastes plant calebs days are numbered...there will be little interest left in him...his earning power goes down....everything...yeah hell have a nice nest egg for the family and all...and thats great.....but interest will wane....hell have to rebuild that.....not easy at his age...hes not a 23-24 year old kid........

the fight will still be there 2-3 fights from now...he can earn....raise his stake....and then get even more money.......

if plant feels the way you guys do...or the way you think he should feel...surely he will express this and be mad and talk about how displeased he is right? yeah anybody would....but that wont happen because plant isnt upset or outraged at haymon because he sees the same thing.......

if he gets beat and loses that fight so be it...its a gamble...a risk...but its a calculated one and one hes willing to take....

i can tell alot of you are broke irl...you have that mentality....you would all just jump at the highest figure as soon as possible....not every fighter does that
Yeah but Plant claims he wants it, now, not in a year. Are we being lied to? It's beginning to look like it. He has had plenty to say about Canelo so it's just guna look like a bit of clout chasing if they don't follow through.

A lot of ppl have predicted this fight ain't guna happen and who will be to blame,, the PBC will make 1 offer that they know won't be accepted, completely ignore the DAZN offer and then just walk away claiming they tried. It's predicted by many cuz the PBC has form for doing this.

And Canelo won't be here in a year, not at 168 hanging on for plant.

Can't say anything with Haymon's non disparagement clauses.
