How one fighter does against another common opponent isn't the most accurate method of determining the outcome of a fight. Thurman is a slightly better boxer and has quicker hands and feet, but Spence is naturally bigger and can take a better punch to the face and body. Spence is taller and has a better jab.
Spence hasn't shown the same vulnerability as Thurman yet. I felt that mostly that vulnerability cost Thurman the fight.
It depends if Pacquiao gets tired again in the middle of the fight and what will Spence do with it.
Marquez was a pure counterpuncher. He’s short armed like Pac. The first fight he actually fought more after that all he looked for was “one punch”. Great fights.
Both of these men have “styles” the just worked very well until they met each other.
Pac was tailor made for jmm
Credit to pac for actually doing so well against jmm style
Jmm had pac number
Jmm style was totally wrong for pac style
And the lil wacko fought him 4 times
Few guys would do that
Especially since he could have easily avoided jmm after 1 or 2 fights
Definitely could have avoided him after the 3rd
Remember, jmm turned down the immediate rematch at 126, pac accepted
Yes, Thurman is a bigger puncher and throws faster combinations than Spence but he doesn't have a bigger engine than Erroll Spence. Spence's workrate, punch volume and cardio conditioning is going to help wear the older 42 year old man down in the later rounds. Pac won't get a moments rest against Erroll "The Truth" Spence, Jr. Manny is going to need a knockout in order to win this fight.
He’s probably trying to lure Spence into fighting recklessly against Pac. I myself don’t think that Thurman is/was a better fighter than Spence.
he's trying to get spence to change his game plan from what he normally does. I do it all the time to the younger guys I play NBA 2k with. I tell them, "I know your weaknesses and I saw the way you just played. I'd love for you to play me that way". After hearing this, they pick a new team and change their whole strategy and get beat mercilessly. Roach is playing mind games..
