After watching Roach speak for the last 16 years or so, it's pretty clear that he says outlandish sht to either play head games with the opponent or to convince himself of something that simply isn't true.

Bud, spence and thurman are the current stars of the division no doubt. But again because unbelievably they've not fought each other we are guessing who's strongest between thurman and spence and who is the best between spence and bud? If they'd bloody fought each other like they should have Wed have answers to these questions.
how embarrassing they leaving it to a former flyweight with 70 fights under belt at 42 to try clear up some of confusion?
If Pac beats spence he's the greatest who ever lived in everyone's private opinion. I want to apologise to pac, on buds, thurman and spence behalf.Last edited by hugh grant; 07-14-2021, 03:48 PM.

According to you, PAC would be the betting favorite if he was fighting Canelo or AJ or a prime Tyson or any boxer in history.
You and Roach are cut from the same clothe. Roach says “ I like that Manny doesn’t just wanna fight stiffs or actors or whatever it may be. He’s still fighting real people.”
Meanwhile, PAC’s career in the last 12 years is littered with Brandon Rios, Broner, Mathysse and a myriad of guys coming off losses.

So pac s not going to get respect for beating major names as they're not as good anymore? That's not fair on pac, just cos pac maintained his level so that he puts himself in.position to beat these kids, yet you say Pac only beat guys coming off losses?

When Thurman was prime, it might have been somewhat close. But at this point, the Thurman that we've seen I've this last 2 fights? Nah..Spence is clearly superior.

Roach seems to forget he said Thurman looked like sht and was not the same fighter when he fought Manny as he was 3 yrs earlier. now he is comparing a prime Thurman from before surgery and layoffs, not the broken version Manny fought.

The fact they've fallen by wayside and pac s still here is a testament to pac s greatness. Pac is quite within his right to be given massive, gigantic respect for beating these still young guys who at some point were expected to do great things a for many many years to come. Pac s ready for all comers at 40 and turns up fight night in shape why weren't broner and lucas? All people asked was Lucas and broker to be prepared just like Pac was. How hard can it be for guys in prime. They should be able to have off night and still beat pac. Why are standards so high on pac?

Broner was literally coming off two losses and a draw. He was long written off as a future star in boxing.
Mathysse’s last big fight was a loss to Victor Postol and then he fought Emmanuel Taylor and Tiwa Kiram (nobody knows who these guys) before fighting PAC. Mathysse was long done being a future of boxing after Danny Garcia beat him.
But history has context, this cherry picking wasn’t something that started with Broner. It goes back to Clottey who had just lost to Cotto, there was Mosley who had lost to Floyd, there was Margarito who had been KO’d by Mosley. There is a long pattern that you guys love to ignore or twist into mythical tales.
PAC is a good boxer and could have beaten any of the top WW (except Floyd) 10 years ago. He didn’t need to fight guys coming off losses or create dubious catchweights. We all saw that he beat Thurman. There was literally no need for a Broner-like fight.
Unlike you, we respect PAC for beating Thurman and for taking on Spence. Those are massive fights if not historical but we cannot ignore historical facts either.
