HBO reports that the March 15 rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez generated 400,000 buys totalling $20.2 million in sales.
If Floyd vs Juan do better than 400,000 then all those that say Pac is a bigger draw should STFU.
If they do less than that then all those that say Floyd is a bigger draw should also STFU.
This is a fair comparison since it's the same opponent and Pac's fight was before the credit crunch.
and as what PBF said, numbers don't lie ...

first, almost ALL THEIR PUBLICITY has come from the word PACQUAIO.HBO reports that the March 15 rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez generated 400,000 buys totalling $20.2 million in sales.

everytime we turn around PBF is crying PAC. JMM is mentioned due to the fact he gave PAC problems and he may be worth seeing. if anything people are watching JMM not PBF. your thought process is invalid. only delusional PBF fans are thinking otherwise.
Great fighter but acts like a **** sucker. not worth my money.Comment

Just curious to know if anyone on here actually thought pbf-jmm was a bigger fight that cotto-pac????
I certainly dont and would have never expected it to outsell that particual fight seeing that pac and cotto are both big draws. Pbf is a big draw but jmm isnt that big.
Floyd vs cotto or pac would outsell those two against each other anyday.

Mayweather Jr. has been hyping his fight on WWE monday night Raw. So he's fight has been advertised good enough.Comment

Even the lower figure is outrageous though. I can't think of any other sport which people pay that much to watch.A popular on-line ticketing service is currently selling a ringside seat to Mayweather vs. Marquez for $4,590 each. The exact same seat for Pacquiao vs. Cotto is currently priced at $10,943. [details]Comment

Yes it's a strange article, because as you say, it's always been obvious that JMM-Floyd couldn't outsell Pac-Cotto, yet the author seems surprised. It'll almost certainly outsell the Pac-JMM fight, though. But that's mostly because Pac wasn't nearly as big a draw then as he is now, so even that comparison is meaningless.Just curious to know if anyone on here actually thought pbf-jmm was a bigger fight that cotto-pac????

Pac's fight was before the credit crunch, but also before he fought DLH and Hatton. Pac became huge after those 2 fights.HBO reports that the March 15 rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez generated 400,000 buys totalling $20.2 million in sales.

Floyd and GBP had already gave up on PPV in showing it on cinemas.
I doubt it will do 400,000 buys. I'll bet if Pac-JMM 3 push through, it will do more than 400,000 buys. Maybe doubled.Comment
