Also, the reason why he got rocked because he actually squared up and fought Linares flat-footed; Which made this a very hotly contested bout at times. Devin took more risks and chances in this fight than at any other time in his boxing career. Other than that, I thought with Devin's jabs and the beautiful combinations he threw. He dominated.
this kid could s h i t out gold bricks and people would question his worth lol. hes 22 years old and has one of the best jabs in boxing... risked a loss to slug it out with a guy who can ****... and even took the hit and what do people say? ridiculous.

This kid will get stronger... and what happens to guys who are young and big for the weight, with power? They outgrow the division with a prayer and a punch... And most times that power does not carry up. Haney meanwhile can throw every punch, take a shot, move extremely well... and he will get stronger/hit harder.

Do you know anything about boxing? Seriously? First of all, lets say for the sake of argument that Tank has developed more as a fighter... I mean he is four years older after all right? Haney already has one of the best jabs in the sport... at 22 years old. Who has tank fought that boxes as well as Haney? who can jab like Haney? Could Tank catch him? yeah...and Tank has that power, but it is hardly a given. haney chose to duke it out with Linares... And in a few years? Haney will eclipse tank in spades. Tank is already straining at the gills to make weight, and lets see if his punch carries up... Maybe he can ask Juan ma about Salidad? lol.

Look at old tapes of Juan ma coming up... His power was legit, and he had skills to boot. lets see Tank can avoid becoming intoxicated by his power.

Yeah your right to a certain extent. But all tank really needs is one punch. And considering that hes not an old shot fighter like linares he'll catch him and definitely finish the job unlike linares

Will Haney lose a few fights coming up? Perhaps... Hes also on track to develop phenomenally. His jab, his poise, his instinct in the ring... this kid is going to be very good and maybe great. His chin is also fine... He got tagged plenty in the early rounds and shook it off.

Of all the prospects, here is a kid with a real work ethic, who has natural talent, and has been brought along professionally and not as an amatuer... who is winning at a young age against excellent fighters... and people are damning him when he does, as they would if he didn't.

Right now today, if he fought a tourney with all the other prospects that should be fighting each other, I don't know if he would win... But in a few years, when Tank is showing the social skills he learned from Broner and treating boxing as less of a priority, when lopez has to move up in weight, and when Ryan has dealt with his own demons, I would be willing to bet Haney will be top dog out of this group.
Very true and well said! Nice quote!

Tank has power... I still want to see the limits of that power... and Linares did not look shot. I know the Santa cruz KO was a beauty but he was fighting a guy who likes to come forward. Tank does not have reach either... lets see how he deals with a nice jab.

Lol linares literally said he kept getting tired. If he wasn't shot he would of finished hankey. Tank is willing to eat shots to land one and hankey shockingly seems to have less power than santa cruz.

You can't predict who would finish who... And Linares conditioning seemed to hold up for the fight... I only know what i see. Certainly Linares in his younger days was better... and so will Haney be when he grows a little from being 22 years old. Haney never even went down, yet many are writing him off because he got buzzed by a guy who has power. Lets remember that the great Loma was taught the difference between the the Ammy's and the professionals... when he fought Salidad and go smacked around... and nobody called him exposed.

                  • Haney fought a great fight, except I was very disappointed by his last 2 rounds hugging, should have boxed his way out.
thought he did a great job rounds 1-10.
my 2 buddies I was doing uni work with who aren't boxing fans ended up loving the fight and watching it till the end on.
Can't believe some of you pricks are savaging him.

So just because he didnt go down he wasn't hurt? He was hurt and held on the last 2 rounds. Literally.
the same salido who came in overweight and kept low blowing? Not to mention in only his second professional fight? In 26 fights hankey hasn't even fought anyone on Salido's level. Stay mad loser haha
