In the UK the hometown fighter gets cheered on to hang in there and bring home the W. The Americans boo a 22yr old fighter for doing the same thing? WTF
In the United States it's a race thing more than anything else.

He can't do it any longer. He is an old man now. He no longer has the same cardio conditioning, workrate or stamina that he once had.

Hany passed his first real test last night. He fought pretty good, got caught and hurt a bit but let's not act like Linares can't crack still. Issue I see with haney is when he outgrows that division his power will be almost nothing at 140 and those guys like Taylor are big and can crack. He is a good fighter though

Haney lost rounds 3, 6 or 9 (forget which), 10-12. The judges got it right in terms of scoring.

If you think getting BAMBI-legged and then literally hugging for 3 (THREE) rounds aka NINE MINUTES is a "superb performance" then you just dont know what the fuck youre talking about. Any competent ref that wasn't being paid by Deon would've deducted points or DQ'd the crybaby....not to mention Deon was allowed to hit in the clinches, forearm to the neck, lowblows, and hug like he was on episode of Teletubby.

Deon is ass and is a KTFO meme waiting to happen. Can't wait.

Well at least he kicked Linares' ass! He gave him a thorough ass whooping and not only that he is still undefeated. I know that it really burns you

You can hate and say what you will but the kid's a real winner and he's only 22 years old. Which means he is only going to get better with time and experience! So how you like him now?!

Key thing there is 22 - he needs fight like these to learn from and improve. He looked amateurish at times, and was caught way too often, but the measure of how good he can be will be how much he picks over his performance and plugs the holes. There is a lot of good there, just a case of learning from his mistakes and being better next time out.

Teo also got flak for not finishing off Nakatani, but he learned from it and grew, just as Haney needs to do. Gut feeling is that he lags behind Teo in development though, and can imagine Teo would have finished him off fairly easily.

Campbell would be a good next step for his development (not an easy fight again) - but he needs to stay away from Teo for now (and Loma).
