Comments Thread For: Joshua-Usyk: WBO Gives Hearn 48 Hours To Provide Proof of Fury Deal

He can fight a mandatory from the other sanctioning bodies. The WBO is not the end of boxing. Joshua could temporary relinquish the belt and then work out a unification bout deal later with Usyk for it. The reason why I say ditch it now because it's a very risky fight for Joshua in which he could lose. Usyk is undefeated and if AJ loses, then there really won't be any chance of an undisputed fight between Joshua/Fury. Also, there will be no rematch clause if Anthony Joshua loses either because this is a sanctioned WBO mandatory title bout.Comment

However, has Anthony Joshua regained the confidence in order to do that though? Remember how tentative he was against Andy Ruiz in their second bout. That knockout loss has permanently scarred him. He may be reluctant in doing so for fear of getting clipped again himself by Oleksadr Usyk; Who is also perceived as a very light puncher at the Heavyweight division as Andy Ruiz was in their first bout and we all witnessed what happened to him there there. We shall see.
all Joshua has to do is walk the Ukraniane down, walk through his average punching power, corner him and unload some good shots. it will look like the Monty Python skit "the faculty versus the students Rugby match." Chisora almost caught lerch with slow looping shots... Joshua just has to grow a pair and assert himself.

What hope does Joshua has to be an undisputed unified champion if you think he cannot defeat a less capable cruiserweight? Does he even deserve to be a unified champion then?He can fight a mandatory from the other sanctioning bodies. The WBO is not the end of boxing. Fine, you are right. Let Anthony Joshua go ahead and fight his mandatory challenges then because it's obvious that Tyson Fury has been bullshitting him all along. Moreover, who else is he supposed to fight?

I still struggle to see Fury fighting Wilder again - I think he will retire but more likely Wilder is just negotiating step-aside money.Comment

No that ship has sailed. It's over and done! The fight has been set for August 24th; Mostly likely at the Allegiant Stadium where the NFL Las Vegas Raiders play their home games. Wllder is not retiring. He wants to fight which is why the arbiter didn't award him any monetary damages or remedy; Just a third fight in order to exercise the Wilder/Fury rematch clause that Tyson breached.Comment
