Ok just watched the fight. coupla comments:

Areolla looked good. Did not look shot by any stretch. He was a threat to Ruiz because he is smart... He realized that given Andy's stature, Ruiz is always vulnerable to a chopping right. The first Knockdown was a flash, but it created a slight bluepring regarding Ruiz's lack of reach, and a habit Ruiz has of occasionally pulling his jab back slowly. The other "wobbles" were good solid shots from Areolla. Those left hooks were well delivered. I was impressed with Areolla, I think he eats Chisora for breakfast right now, and I am a fan of Derrick's. Chris Areolla is one of "those." Spent a lot of time going up and down and all around, learned a lot, has maintained his tools, moves well in the ring... lets not forget that Chris and the Polish kid from Brooklyn, not that long ago set a record for punches thrown in a heavyweight bout. So... Chris Areolla may not be 27 years old, but he is a threat right now... a schooled veteran with his physical facilities still in tact.

Andy Ruiz has to learn how to angle his shoulders to deal with the overhand right... Should be looking at tape of Archie Moore, or Mayweather, even James Toney. Like Marciano, who (like Andy) loves to throw the ovrhand hand right, but was short, Andy has to crouch more, present a dominant side more, use a fake center line, or use the back foot... Marciano used the crouch. Andy cannot square up like he does. Right now Wilder would catch him if he squares up.

Andy has more mobility and has maintained his hand speed, but he will never have the footwork to avoid a big overhand right. Thats his biggest problem imo. He may have also lost some punch resistance with the weight loss, hard to tell...

I think if Ruiz can work on these defects he can challenge anyone not named Tyson Fury.

HE'S NOT BODYBUILDING DUDE! No one "JUST" lifts weights unless they're an idiot. Ruiz has a God given engine to begin with, but anyone with half a brain should be running/swimming/biking/cross training too. From your terrible description you honestly sound like someone who's never trained for a competitive sport in their life.

Exactly. Any competitive athlete should be lifting weights in some capacity or another. Only an idiot doesn't combine it with other things like running, biking, swimming, cross training, yoga, etc...

Ruiz already KTFO of one of those kings. He'll whoop him in the trilogy too!
