I think those that felt Loma was on the same level as Floyd and Manny created a lot of the backlash toward him. Loma is a very good boxer without question. He deserved to be ranked top 3 p4p, whether you had him 1 , 2 or 3. I just thought the ATG talk was way premature and the Teo fight confirmed that. I thought the Salido loss showed he hadn't had enough experience as a pro such that he could prevent a vet like Salido from turning the fight into a dirty brawl.
He definitely isn't washed up. I do think it is over for him at LW not because of him being washed, but because the Teo fight made clear Loma is too small for true LW's like Teo and Haney. I still would pick him to beat a guy like Tank who isn't a true LW.
Yes, Loma isn't as celebrated but I think that is more because he hasn't fought since then. Let's see what he does against Nakatani. If he looks good and wins then I think people will talk about him again.
