I've seen guys on the forum talk about Lomachenko before the Teofimo fight as a ATG, and someone even said that Lomachenko could beat Prime Mayweather, which is ridiculous. Keep in mind, I still acknowledge the fact that these are educated fans, to an extent. After Loma's loss to Teo, then I hear that "Hes washed up, he was never that good since he lost to Salido and Teo, etc." This is what I mean, even some educated American fans switch sides quickly. You can look on the forum right now, nobody is talking about Lomachenko anymore, he's no longer a praised fighter like before, that is also what I mean by fickle. Anyways, thanks for the response!
I think those that felt Loma was on the same level as Floyd and Manny created a lot of the backlash toward him. Loma is a very good boxer without question. He deserved to be ranked top 3 p4p, whether you had him 1 , 2 or 3. I just thought the ATG talk was way premature and the Teo fight confirmed that. I thought the Salido loss showed he hadn't had enough experience as a pro such that he could prevent a vet like Salido from turning the fight into a dirty brawl.

He definitely isn't washed up. I do think it is over for him at LW not because of him being washed, but because the Teo fight made clear Loma is too small for true LW's like Teo and Haney. I still would pick him to beat a guy like Tank who isn't a true LW.

Yes, Loma isn't as celebrated but I think that is more because he hasn't fought since then. Let's see what he does against Nakatani. If he looks good and wins then I think people will talk about him again.

The worst fans by far are the Hearn fanboys. They have been brainwashed by regularly watching hour long Hearn interviews on youtube and they run to Eddie's defence. Then they buy those unworthy ppv's. Hearn is able to get away with putting lacklustre shows as ppv because of these morons.

Cooney as well after Holmes knocked him out he was a glass chinned bum even though it was a tough fight and he hurt Holmes and only stopped by ATG fighters .

Being American I think we hold an unrealistic view and today it’s the worst fan base by far it’s ever been . Look at the Whyte loss to Povetkin and A.J loss to Ruiz to see how delusional they are on here alone . We even got guys still calling Wilder exceptional just yesterday , many still think the fight was a draw with Fury in the first one ? Ha
That's some revisionism you've done there.

Morrison was WBO champion in 93. The WBO was not a major title in 93. Unrecognized body no different than today's IBO and it's unrecognized status.

Cooney never did ****. The only HW he ever fought that wasn't old or a no hopers was a LHW. Only stopped by three ATG fighters because he only fought cans, old men, and lhws.

Neither of them lived up to their hype.

This is an excellent post. I don't think being undefeated should matter at all.

It should matter since it's so hard to achieve. As long as the resume is somewhat impressive.

Agreed. It all about perspective. We have so much of everything here, not just sports. We have this replacement mentality regarding everything. Hell we do this with artists, actors/actresses, authors, mom and pop shops, product lines/brands, websites, and the list goes on.

On the flip side, we also breed world icons at every level. The United States is the NYC of the world. You make it to the top here and your global automatically. Can’t say that for other countries. It’s quite ironic in a way. We are so divisive here but our icons unite the world with common themes and drive cultures. I can list the icons just from the last 50yrs and my thumbs will fatigue before I can finish the list. Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Madonna, Prince, Elvis, MLK. You get the gist.

This is a very demanding country. It is what it is.

I only notice this over the last recent years, i mean these guys come up with stuffs like "Eurobum" and this are prominent posters on here, only TWO weeks ago another prominent boxer said if one of Hearn boxer loses then its the end for Hearn and that boxer, and i was like WTF? Why are you guys stuck on this undefeated record? Like MMA doesn't care, younger brits with undefeated records are fighting each other, i gave examples of those. And i remember saying this is why american boxers don't want to fight each other unless its on PPV for more money, hence why we wouldn't see Ortiz v Ennis, hence why we wouldn't see Garcia v Haney, hence why we haven't seen Bud/Spence or Plant/Benavidez.
